2006 harlequins v hull fc, left hull at 9am to get to stoop for 3pm kick off, travelling in car, all going well, stopped off at watford gap around midday for break, giving us plenty of time to get to twickenham, rejoined m1 and 500 yards on there was a accident meaning we didn't move for nearly 2 hours!, managed to arrive at the stoop just as the half time hooter went!

The only time I've ever been late for a game was Leeds in the play off final eliminator 2007. Bad traffic on the M62 meant we only arrived at 8.20, twenty mins after kick off.

My maites was going to be late for a Cas versus Wire game at the old Wire ground so they phoned Wire club shop claiming to be Eddie Ashton the Cas chairman asking if they could delay the kick off but it did not work. even though the wire shop beleived they was the chairman they would delay it because of the police and was very sorry for not delaying it.

We were once late, or it was just about KO, when we arrived at the old Wire ground v Cas. I pulled up to the car park at the ground & for a joke said 'Mike Gregory, Warrington Rugby League'. The old bloke on the gate said 'Alright mate, come in' & let us through.

I had to do a Friday job down in Trowbridge. Set off late and underestimated how long the journey would be. Normally i would mind missing a match but it was Leeds vs Saints on the 4th of september to decide who finished top. Got off site at 5ish and drove like a bat out of hell.

Got to the ground just before second half was about to kick off and was refused entry at the cricket ground side, so had to go down near the club shop. Let straight in only to find someone sitting in my seat. Luckily there was an empty seat behind them, so i didn't have to kick up a fuss.

'when my life is over, the thing which will have given me greatest pride is that I was first to plunge into the sea, swimming freely underwater without any connection to the terrestrial world' Yves Le Prieur, the real inventor of the aqualung:

Got a train from Pompey on Saturday teatime and a taxi back after the game to watch HKR play Aussie, if you are determined enough you will get there.

Where is that user that travelled down to a Harlequins game, missed the whole match and decided to drive around London instead before returning home? Believe it was a Bradford supporter icon_lol.gif

Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good - sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league - Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate - the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever - Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go - Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know - FIOS:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_39110.jpg

Not sure if this quite fits in but this is a story from my dad.

"remember a Wigan fixture against Bradford in the eighties. I think it was in Feb and might have been a Challenge cup tie. I can't quite remember. It was frosty but Wigan had recently installed undersoil heating and so I was convinced the game would be on. I remember approaching Central Park at the kop end turnstiles and there wasn't a soul around. As I approached the ground the gates were open and so I walked onto the kop wondering what was going on. There was nobody on the ground! It was a weird experience. I must have been the only person in Wigan who hadn't heard that the game had been cancelled. Although the pitch was ok, the game had been cancelled because of safety on the terraces. Was I the only one who hadn't heard that it had been postponed?."

When ar wur a lad I was at scout camp at Bramhope. My mate and me decided to go watch Bradford against Bramley in the Yorkshire cup (1992/93 maybe?) so we started walking out past the airport until my trainers fell apart. We managed to find a shop and bought some sellatape and I managed to wrap it around what was left of my trainers and we carried on walking.

Being a sunday no buses were forthcoming so we ended up walking all the way to Odsal and falling in with the doors at about 12. Must have been about 13 miles. The journey was only rendered bearable by reading the sunday sports scoop on some sort of human breasted cat.

My mum fell over in the car park at HKR in 1992 and broke her ankle, but we were late for kick off and my dad and I had gone in! We shouted encouragement to get up and get in for the game through the fence!

She did and we found out it was broken AFTER the game!

Not really us that had trouble getting to the game but mum did!

We won 22-6 for the record, dead foggy I remember.

All well in the end!!! icon_lol.gif

Went to the France-England game in June, got in from a night's drinking in Bastilles with some Quins fans at 4am with our flight to Liverpool leaving at 10am - landed at Liverpool at 2ish, drank 2 litres of Lucozade (with added Ibuprufen) and drove like hell to the LSV, only to see Gateshead stick 40 odd past us. Cost me 50 quid extra to fly back in time for the game instead of spending the afternoon in Paris! icon_twisted.gif
