| He's a fantastic player, should definitely be in the GB side as a starting winger. For me one of the most underrated players in superleague, people rate him just not highly enough IMO.

Richard Ashcroft from the verve, he once said if you wear patent leather shoes and can drink 15 pints if lager you will have the time of your life there.

Such a shame for Tom Johnstone, he was clearly Makinsons understudy and started the season on fire!
I think that Makinson is first choice without question but Johnstone is virtually his clone, just bad luck for both of them I suppose.

Ryan Hall is the natural first choice for the Britain wing spots, along side Thomas Makinson when he is fit.
Which NRL club has approached Thomas Johnstone? None that I know of. By contrast Ryan Hall plays for the top team in the NRL, which is a star studded outfit.
Thomas Johnstone would be absolutely over the moon if only the NRL wooden spooners Gold Coast Titans even had a chat with him.

A real shame for both players (Makinson and Johnstone) to miss out through injury.

| From the squad named I guess it will be
Ryan Hall (Sydney Roosters)
Jermaine McGillvary (Huddersfield Giants)
not many other options

Tom Johnstone is a very good player but Dom Manfredi when fit is an another level, if it wouldn’t have been for his unfortunate injuries he’d be smashing it in the NRL now I’m sure

Excellent constructive post, and you've seen TJ how many times? RH was that player a couple of years ago, he's not now - but is the best fit player left for that position.

Ryan Hall played very well in several games for the Sydney Roosters in the second half of the season. Unfortunately he suffered another injury and was replaced by Brett Morris, who performed brilliantly. When Ryan Hall was again fit the coach Trent Robinson faced a dilemma about who to pick for the right wing position, and decided for the then incumbent Brett Morris. It was a tough choice and a close choice, but it seems to have been vindicated by Morris's outstanding performance in the Grand Final.
This in no way diminishes Ryan Hall's contributions to the Roosters during the part of the season when he played. He did contribute to the Roosters achieving second place and thereby helped them to make the Grand Final. The Roosters brilliant coach Trent Robinson admires him. Next year Ryan Hall will certainly be in the mix for run on selection, as the Roosters attempt the herculean task of winning three NRL Grand Finals in a row.
