Is he in danger of undoing what he achieved as a player by being such a poor coach or adminstrator whichever role it is as my leeds people are still unsure what he's actually supposed to be doing.
Also to Leeds fans is there any chance the fans will turn on him eventually or has he got a job for life at the Rhinos ?
Apparently a couple of big sponsors are not happy and are thinking of withdrawing support while he's still around, is it that bad.'"
Feel free to tell them there's a club who play in red/white n blue down the road who will welcome them with open arms

| Of all the reasons for Leeds' current issues, Sinfield is low down the list. I get that there's a strong desire from some to see him fail, but he's dealing with problems that well-predate his role and aren't easy fixes.
Leeds are paying for probably three years of poor recruitment and contract decisions. Those aren't easy to fix.

| Problem dates back to 2015 when McDermott dared drop Sinfield for a couple of games and Sinfield spat the dummy out and never forgave him. As such the first thing Sinfield did when appointed was to publicly criticise the culture, ethos and quality of a squad that were reigning champions and had been in the top 4 only several games prior. He wanted rid of any guys he saw as McDermott players and as such they aren’t playing for him.
Any criticising Hetherington for recruitment need to wake up. The stadium work NEEDED to be done and as such meant we couldn’t invest in the squad as much as we’d like. The South Stand was condemned by health and safety in 2010 and it was costing us a 6 figure fee every year to keep it open and the North Stand not in much better nick and the Cricket World Cup provided too good an opportunity not to do the joint stand.
Yes the squad isn’t the best and you hope you could add more quality to it but you work with what you’ve got. Do you not think Kear wouldn’t like a few more SL quality guys at Bradford? Or Watson at Salford, Ward at London or even Chester at Wakey wouldn’t like to be able to spend a bit more on their squad? Of course they would but they back the squad the have and try to get the best from them rather than criticise them and try and force them out of the club. McDermott I’m sure would’ve loved bigger signings to replace the retiring legends but he never complained of the quality of his squad towards the end, he just backed them to win a GF in 2017 when everyone else wrote them off.

I think that could depends on who your contacts are and it what capacity they are connected to the club.
This club needs a routes up transformation, there was big issues before Sinfield came in, maybe the decisions he is making are pitting a few people noses out of joint and they don’t like it but that doesn’t mean those decisions don’t have to be made.
I’ve no idea, your contacts could be 100% right, and if they are I wouldn’t hold it against the club for getting rid of him.

| Sinfield is in a similar position to Radlinski IMO, a club legend as a player who isn't really proven in their current role and will take a lot of flak from the fans when things go wrongly, but very little praise when things go well.

I agree with this, Sinfield was always going to have people with knives out for him if there wasn’t an improvement this year, I would guess there’s a lot of people wanting him to fail, we brits love to see successful people fail.

McDermott dropped Sinfield because he decided to sign for Carnegie. McDermott was the one who spat his dummy out initially.

| As a wire fan, I've always had the upmost respect for sinfield. Class player and always conducted himself well. That was until I saw him at his son's teams game effing and jeffing at the ref and threatening people. The man is a bellend!

Sinfield’s decision to sign for Carnegie was made public well before he was dropped wasn’t it?
In my head I had the announcement around March and him dropped sometime in May?

Excellent player. Never struck me as a particularly nice guy though.

Over rated and played with 16 other stars to make his name.
Doesn't really come across well and very Shaun Edwards like.
Edwards was class though. All Sinfield could do is kick a ball and drop goals !

Yes because Sinfield dropped the news on the club at the last minute just before the announcement was made instead of coming to the club and talking it through and letting the news settle amongst the squad. The news that your legendary captain is retiring/moving to RU is a huge deal that can effect the squad and we were fighting for the treble.
Did McDermott drop Peacock, Leuluai, McGuire or Burrow when they announced their leaving? No because they didn’t selfishly go behind the clubs back and announce it at the last minute before it came out.
People should watch As Good As It Gets, Sinfield shows how bitter he was about being dropped (even though 2 years had passed since this was filmed). It was for 2 games yet he made it sound like he was training on his own for half the season and that he kept a diary about everything that went on that year after that but won’t say what because “things should stay in the dressing room”....yet he had the hypocrisy to publicly call out the culture and quality of the squad as soon as he was hired to win over fans and stick it to McDermott rather than keep those thoughts “in house”.
Problem with having legendary players is that certain people involved at and with the club look at them with rose tinted glasses. That’s why Sinfield got rushed into this role, does anybody really think Hetherington of all people wanted to pass over a lot of his responsibilities mid-season to somebody else? No but it was forced upon him by others at the club.

I think you are being unfair on him as a player. He wasn't the most talented but he made up for that with his determination and his mental strength. He was a winner and I am certain Leeds wouldn't have been as successful without him.
He always talked a good game about respect for the opposition and referees etc. But he rarely came across as genuine imo. I think he is a very selfish and cut throat person. That's not necessarily a bad thing in sport, but I can imagine a lot of players not getting on with him.

Think he use to be fine but along with some other players of our golden period they’ve had so much smoke blown up their backsides and they’ve bought into the lie created by anti-McDermott Leeds fans that it was all down to the players and haven’t appreciated the huge roles GH, McDermott, McClennen and Smith had in our success.
Interesting that earlier this year Danny McGuire said that Leeds have for a while now been a player led club....well if that was the case when Sinfield was captain he can’t complain about culture & ethos and when players he wants rid of won’t play for him or his choice of coach. He and other senior players apparently more than had their say in the departures of Smith and McClennen.
