He had a year left on his deal. However I think the Bulls had to cash in when they did. Sam wanted to go to the NRL and if we'd kept an unhappy player for another year we'd perhaps not have been able to afford Orford who has been instrumental in our improvement on last year.

yeh, rent for that area would be $800-1000 a week for a top apartment. That's a 1/3rd of his salary gone this year!
Having said that doubt there is any forwards in NRL on more than $300k a year

Doesn't sound like it. He was in one of Crowe's places for a short while with the rent being taken out of his salary. He's in his own place now according to his twitter even if he's locked himself out of it.  |

Outstanding player and person. Deserves every reward that comes his way. The lifestyle itself is worth any amount of money and he'll be most likely banking practically everything he earns.
