Well, don't you think that the argument that if Superleague goes Transatlantic by adding more NA and French clubs and removing several useless English clubs let's say...
Wigan
Catalans
Toronto
St.helens
Avignon
Ottawa
Leeds
New York
Warrington
Toulouse
Hull
Valencia
Rugby League in the Northern Hemisphere will start to thrive and take off big time?? You see Wayne there are many of us who are sick and tired of hearing this argument, moreso because it's not a factual argument, it's just a silly dream.
So free speech pal. If you and others want to keep telling me the future is Transatlantic why can't I and others tell you the future is I am afraid the M62.
You like the idea of censorship do you? Go on Totalrl.com and you can fantasise all you want without factual opposition....

Donnyman you are pushing against an open door here, if the expansionists want a NA super League let them have one that includes the French and the North Americans and leave us to play in our own back yard as we have done for the last 100 years or so, my post wasn't aimed at you or others that agree with you but a sarcastic reply to those that want to argue for the sake of it without having anything of substance to argue with. having said that Toronto for the time being at least are in SL but hopefully time will prove you right.

Apologies, but this is the fourth year of this ridiculous nonsense about RL taking off around the globe. Even the BBC were at it....
[i"A Canadian & French side in the top flight of an otherwise English league is genuinely jaw-dropping, The game can no longer be passed off as that strange pastime that takes place in odd northern towns. Incredibly there is a feeling of resentment towards Toronto...Fans of some clubs fear their team could be pushed away from the table because of the newcomers. The sport should be hugely reassured that a businessman like David Argyle would be willing to plough millions of his own into RL, bringing new Canadian converts and driving up media attention to almost unprecedented levels."[/i
Notice how even Dave Woods wants to denegrate the game, and insult fans as being [i"fearful people from odd northern towns"[/i. Do we get a right of reply to that Woods? We pay our license fees that pay your wages just like "normal" people.
The thing here Wayne is that these people within the game whether BBC correspondents or RL press editors have the ability to send out messages to the public, and this last three plus years the message is Rugby league will die or at best survive as a small backwater sport unless it embraces the "Future" of international SL clubs and big name signings.
To Woods, Lockwood and Sadler I have seen the "future" at Headingley & Salford and Perpignan and all I can see is English players dressing up as French and Canadians, struggling to make any impact in the game, at clubs racking up big debts, who in desperation buy up controversial ageing ex-NRL mercenaries whose best days are literally years behind them.
Woods and several posters on here keep telling us we are dinosaurs? Well I certainly don't have a massive mouth and a tiny brain........

Looking like they've blown the budget on too few overpriced imports, rather than "spreading the load".
Rochdale are a good club, with some decent players but, they are only likely to allow their fringe players to play for TWP.

The rules only allow ONE player at a time to DR upwards so won't be that interesting, or much help in terms of numbers nevermind quality.

| Peter Sterling, the last great player Hull fc had, has claimed that expansion into North America is the absolute right thing to do as the game in the northern hemisphere is dying.
Well said that man. He gets it

He can hardly say anything otherwise Stephanie dear, he is there to promote the game no matter what mistakes it makes.
What you don't get is last night there were no North Americans on the pitch and no North Americans in the stands.
They don't play RL in Canada, Canada TV companies won't pay to show it as there's no real interest.
So maybe Argyle has to waste another $10,000,000 to try to get some real interest there?
As for dying here, we have the player production lines, we have the fans, we have the TV deals and we have owners who make their clubs work.
It doesn't work in North America, that's why they pulled the world cup. Sterling clumsily ended up having to denegrate the English game to promote the Canadian game.
Poor stuff.... Do you write his scripts perchance?

You really believe that they have the freedom to move away from the script. The script has to be to tell us all how exciting and groundbreaking it all is otherwise they will just be putting SKY viewers off. They have to play everything up and are paid to do so as the mighty Snowie says. You on the other hand are free to judge TWP with an open mind, do please try it, remembering they are here to expand the player pool and the TV deals.

I keep getting told that Sky don't want a Canadian (or any overseas) team in Super League as it isn't in their interests so why would Sky employees be paid to promote the Canadian club as you have suggested? Or is it a wider conspiracy?
