Quote: Errlee Berd "Appreciate what you're saying, and I agree (straying a bit from the point I was making though). I was only trying to point out where the reputation had come from (which some HKR fans were defending), and on recent past squad lists you can see why. 5/6 is a step in the right direction as you say.

Reputations take a while to build, keep that figure lowish and keep bringing through the youth and that reputation of an over-reliance on Aussies will be forgotten.

I'm not buying the Lovegrove 'homegrown' argument either. I know that by the rules he's classed as Fed Trained, but really, he's an Australian.'"
There is nothing to buy that is why I keep saying 6 and not 5 (But the fact is he is).
It just grates a little that we we slagged off like crazy about CP and we went and got it sorted (By hook or by crook), We were abused about over reliance on overseas players and we have got that sorted too.
Now what happens? Yes that's right the abuse just moves onto other things without even a well done by some on the bloody massive strides forward the club have made.

That is why fans jump on the defensive.

The aim of the game is to win. Tbh I really don't care what passports or accents players have if it helps us win more games. I don't see Chelsea or man utd fans fretting about overseas players like RL fans do. The. Again I don't see other fans fretting about crowds, sponsorship, facilities, foreign clubs or the quality of pies at grounds like RL fans do. You could do a phd in psychology on the navel gazing of RL fans!

Quote: Anakin Skywalker "Fans/teams omit facts it's what they do.
How many of you mention that you should of been kicked out the CC in 2008 when mentioning the final that year as an example.'"

Being thrown out of the cup for the offence, would have been way OTT, in my opinion.

The tax payers of Hull haven't paid for anything. The local council has guaranteed the loan so the tax payer will foot the bill only if Hull KR don't pay.

Lol, yeh the tax payers of hull must be thrilled to be subsidising hfc

The Mail can reveal the terms of that lease sees the SMC;
Cover policing and stewarding costs for Hull FC games at a cost in excess of £100,000 a year, a service not provided to Hull City.
Purchase, as part of the lease agreement, £140,000 worth of Hull FC Premier Club season passes every season, giving the club guaranteed income.
Subsidises the catering and beer sales at each match, making a loss of £70,000 last season.
In a statement yesterday, Mr Allam insisted the stadium must be run on sound business principles, having lost £409,000 in the last financial year.

For fielding a player you had no right to or were even allowed to play? Really?
I would think only an FC would see it that way which kinda proves my point.

Rather puts a £5,000 fine and 2 point deduction for having an extra player on the park for 40 seconds into perspective!

Was there in 1980. Great day icon_thumb.gif Didn't realised I'd mentioned it tbh icon_surprised.gifops:

Terrible thing we did with Mason, staying within the rules like that. Unforgivable.

Just out of interest how do you think that compares with being given an exception to the quota so you could sign all of Gatesheads overseas players?

What really grates on me is the fact Hull KR cry they dont have any money blah blah blah yet go and sign top Aussie players on big money.

Weyman, Costigan and apparantly theyre close to signing Trent Hodgkinson from Canterbury

We don't say we have no money. The club says it relies on private investors to put their hands on their pockets to ensure we can pay up near full salary cap. Big difference.
We don't have enough cash to pay full salary cap AND spend massive amounts on academies. It's the clubs decision which we do and generally they've done ok in the years since joining SL in building a squad the reaches the playoffs and after all winning games is what the customers want.
