I dislike Ryan Bailey as much as anyone, but this is correct. There is no clear obvious intention from Bailey to elbow Radford in the head, he isnt looking at Radford at any point and it looked to me that he was just attempting to get up for a quick PTB.
On reflection, Bailey should have got 10 for making contact with an opponents head (still an offence even if not completely deliberate), and Radford got what he deserved for laying into a player who was in no position to defend himself. |

The debate isn't about whether the sending off was correct (almost everyone agrees that it was), but whether the elbows to the head should have been punished as well. |

To be fair, the original debate was actually about the sending off (it is the title of the thread after all). But it seems that most people's gripes are with that Bailey got to elbow someone several times in the head and then have a huge paddy afterwards when the ref had calmed things down (including attempting a head butt on Sean Long in full view of the ref) and still get to stay on the field. |

Bailey's elbow connected with Radford's head 3 times. Counts as several times by my reckoning. And they were swinging elbows. A bit more than stroking his hair.
Radford was in the wrong with his reaction, but I'd say you're very much in the minority if you think Bailey was blameless |
