They certainly made more newspaper headlines and were a great attraction for the "authorities"

Er no the heartland areas have a greater population than sydney, west yorkshire alone equals halfs the population of sydney before we go into merseyside, cheshire, parts of greater manchester, east yorkshire and cumbria as well as other places such as york.
London premiership sides? about a 25% instead of the nrls 50% sydney teams.
Keep going dally

| Quote: dally messenger "to compare NRL vs SL
Weren't you arguing for the demerger of Sydney teams before? Isn't that the same? You wanted more Sydney teams, which would have taken the places of a 2nd NZ side, etc?
And isn't arguing for another QLD club (based in or near Brisbane) or NSW club (based near Sydney) worse than arguing for Barrow (a Cumbrian club, in an area where there is no SL)?
And you still haven't answered which NRL clubs you would drop if you were to bring in an expansion side.
Don't hide from the questions, dally. That's not your style

Most people with credibility usually learn that when their views are exposed as hypocritical through questions that probe them, it would make sense to change such views accordingly.
Dally on the other hand has gone with the "if they're not their, then it's OK" technique of dealing with probing questions! He actually believes he is right, despite also knowing his views are completely hypocritical when twisted on his views of the NRL, and when he is shown up he goes on to trolling as a defence mechanism against personal humiliation.
I'm not sure what's worse: trolling for the sake of trolling, or trolling to divert attention from complete lack of an argument...

| Quote: dally messenger "a Paris bid backed by the resources of the Stade Francaise club would be a failure?
'"
Almost certainly yes once they see crowds of 2000 turn up. Paris St Germain is also a very big name and that failed miserably, there is not a shred of evidence Stade Francais would turn out differently and Paris failed miserably last time they tried to have an Elite 1 side, never mind anything higher.
Quote: dally messenger "
toulose would get larger crowds within 3 years of SL entry than the laggard heartland clubs who have been around for donkey years do today.'"
Not when they get 60 points put on them every week, the crowds would soon drop. They were the second worst team in the Championship this year and could well finish bottom next season, with the lower Aussie quota, they only weren't this year due to Doncaster's collapse. We may as well put the team bottom of the Queensland Cup straight into the NRL on your trolling logic
Quote: dally messenger "
Les Cats come from a smaller place than toulose and they average more than quite a few heartland clubs.'"
Wigan average about 3-4 times what Harlequins get and come from a place 30 times smaller, whereas Toulouse is only double the size of Perpignan, albeit with far less rugby league interest. Bigger place doesn't equal more crowds.

| Quote: bowes "Anyone with an ounce of common sense can see that Paris in SL would be a disaster, that Toulouse aren't ready yet and that Crusaders has been a disaster. Doesn't mean people don't want teams there so much as wanting SL without being dragged down by very poor quality unsupported teams'"
I pretty much agree, but not to your extent.
Paris - no, not until they actually have a side of some kind, playing at LER?Championship level. If they wanted it they could do it in a couple of years, at a fraction of the cost they would have to go to for one, let alone three years of SL.
TO - probably could make the step up, but they have had the chance to prove this beyond doubt but won't go to those lengths. Again, a fear to expend only a fraction of th cost of being in SL. Not inspiring, but we should hold out to see how they do in their second year.
Crusaders - a worse first year than Catalans, as they did not develop enough Welsh players to do well next year, and have failed to sign top notch players from overseas. We still should wait to see how they do next year. IF they avoid the bottom spot then we can say that they have not been a disaster.

So how come I posted this earlier
