| Quote: Dally "My take on it was the coaches lost and won it. Huddersfield looked all relaxed and cocky beforehand - the coach had them in the wrong frame of mind. They'd already lost it before kick off. Smith got it just right and the game was over as a contest within about 15 mins.
After that, it was an even contest but Warrington always had too much power and although Huddesrsfield competed they never looked likely to win it.
Huddersfield had a moment in the second half that was pivotal but literally threw it away - Mason's pass out wide was awful. Score in that play / next set and they could have won despite everything.
From a neutrals perspective it was never reall close enough to be exciting.
I thought Luke Robinson was truly awful in defence and just as bad with ball in hand.'"
Mason in general was awful. He made countless errors throughout the game that seriously affected the Giants momentum.

Can see Hudds getting it together this second half. They've had Wire pinned back the last 15 and could easily have had a couple more. Could hinge on Brown getting back on.'"
Nothing from the refs? Are you on a wind up?

Superb, as always. You start spotting lots of folk in rugby gear and fancy dress miles away from Wembley and I didn't see a hint of anything my granny would disapprove of. Saw fans in the jerseys of every SL club (except Salford, oddly) and nearly all championship clubs. Also quite a number of French fans and at least a dozen in Welsh union club jerseys. I think the party mood was reflected in the friendliness of the stewards & police.

We saw some Salford supporters, they were represented!

Were you watching the same game as Robbie Paul? 'cos in the match we were all watching he had the ball in his right arm, was brought down on his right side and almost all of his upper right arm hit the ground.
Then he reached over the line.
Text book double movement.

As far as I'm concerned the video ref decision to deny Lunt was as wrong as you'll see. That would have changed the course of the game as Hudds were on top and on a huge roll on at the time and could have run in a couple on the back of it.
There's also a strong case for the Hodgson try. Yes the runner hit a defender but he was simply running his line.
It's my opinion that Warrington got the more 50/50 decisions than Huddersfield. You might not agree. That's life.
Fwiw, Wire were the better side on the day and deserved the win. Hudds crucified themselves with errors and possible nerves and Wire played it perfectly for those 20 minutes.

Since when was 'simply running his line' an excuse for obstruction? He was running his line, it was a poor line, it obstructed a defender.

I agree with you on the lunt one but this one was very very harsh.

All I said was there's a case for it. I've seen them given, I've seen them denied. This one was denied. Would the defender have prevented the try if unobstructed? Possibly - Briers had to adjust his defence when he was suddenly 1-on-1. Probably the correct decision overall but I've seen very similar tries given.
The Lunt decision was a disgrace.

| What about when Carvell went over and Ganson said the tackle had been completed? At no time did Ganson call that tackle complete. He didn't on the radio ear piece at the ground (how cool are they?) and still hasn't on three watches, several rewinds and slow-mo!
The King no try, I agree with the decision but we all know we have seen them given at other times.

| Its interesting to see how some of you view the game and how completly wrong you are with your assesments.
On the coaching side, Nathan Brown is so far ahead of Tony Smith in coaching terms that Smith is not fit to be an assistant trainer on Browns coaching staff.
Brown has Huddersfield looking, get this, like a fully fit Rugby League team. Shock horror!
He has tried to keep the game plan simple and put the team in the hands of Hodges and Fulton as much as he possibly can.
The Giants look for field position, repeat sets, they tackle more effectivly than other teams......
Brown is doing so well with what he has got, he is the class of all the SL coaches by a very long way.
As for the overall quality of the game....my god. It was f*cking horrific.
The blunders, the amateur stupidity, the lack of any feeling for the game. The poor defensive reads on just about every single play, the lack of line speed in the defenmse, the terrible kicking game, the non existant positional play by the Wolves fullbacks....I could go on and on!
To think that this is where SL is at in 2009, the British game is dying so quickly and I can not believe the lot of you are not up in arms and calling for the RFL to do something to save the sport.
IF people are right and imports will become less in SL, with fewer incentives, fewer rosters spots for them and tighter visa restrictions, SL is facing a period where it will be a competition full of completely inept players who are only able to compete because of their titally inept opposition.
There are basic things within the game that English players just have no understanding of at all. Things that an under 9's player in Australia or New Zealand would be ashamed of getting wrong.
The British game is dying and I tell you what, you have about 5 years before the damage is completely irreversable and you just can all sit back and watch SL fade into a feeder league for the RFU and their pathetic footballers.

| Great turn out by the Wire fans but the Huddersfield turn out was again poor and contributed to a low attendance.
They also failed to get behind their team. 51 minutes before the 1st chant of "Fartown" and 3 mins later "Huddersfield". The fans were as poor as their team.
