Not sure why it's so funny, especially when most people on here don't seem to know the criteria for winning the award.
I also don't understand the mentality of supporters of a club who are tenants taking the mick out of a club who own their own top class stadium and facilities.

I think the biggest laugh might backfire. I look at your Avatar and see the loss of your stadium has transformed to a
giant bronze rugby ball in a tesco carpark, our youth academy are now embarking on a tour of Australia, maybe the wigan version is a night out in King Street.

On a serious note it is probably not being the best on every parameter but doing very well in all areas of stadia, development, community, charity, corporate events, training facilities etc etc.
The criteria is obviously off field and not performance on it. Maybe the new rugby stadia of Warrington, Widnes and St Helens is the encouragement for the leagues future, so a reward has been created for it.

I think it's mainly an award for progressing a club forwards. If we still had licences (franchising) then Saints would probably have moved up to a grade A by now.

I don't think there is any point scoring system, it's just recognition for a club progressing itself off the field.

There are some clubs eg Hull and Wigan who have little room to go anywhere in terms of developing stadia as they are already at a high level.

In a way the award would become redundant if every club had implemented all the off-field requirements to the max.

I'm sure in the coming years, other teams will get it when they move forwards on their own off-field development. It's not always going to be the league toppers, or those with the best academy or stadia, but it will be those who are progressing forwards.

It's a nice accolade for a Chairperson as recognition for there work.

You could call it Chairman of the year award. Would not surprise me to see the good Dr. getting it in the near future if he sticks by Salford.

There are three Grade A awards for youth development current: Wigan, Leeds, St Helens.

So I suppose it had to go to one of those three clubs.

I don't think there are any formal criteria, however it seems to be a subjective award based on youth performance (a huge number of academy products moving up to first team level), investment in stadium and training facilities, the link ups with Rochdale and Whitehaven, community development, charity work etc...

It is a little bit of recognition for the hard work of the 'behind the scenes' team that don't get any credit normally.

Hopefully other clubs suchas Wakefield, Salford, Cas, London, Salford could aim for this award within the next 5 years then.

Could a club outside Super Duper League win it?
