| obvious player is missing from list, only player to appear in and win 8 finals in a row and also in every round of those 8 campaigns...
Shaun Edwards.........
the RFL missed a big opportunity by not making him an offer to coach England.........

He was also a winner in the 1985 final and lost the 84 and 99 finals.
9 wins in finals a Wembley, 11 appearances, he also captained GB there. How on earth is he not on the list?

| I understand that the RFL have issued yet another statement, saying that it is pure coincidence that the selection panel for the Wembley Statue are also all on the Committee of the same Working Mens Club in Wigan?

He's a union guy now bud. No place for him on a statue of British rugby league. Put one up in your hometown by all means but let's not desecrate our great sport by celebrating a guy who never won a Lance Todd trophy, despite playing in more winning sides than anybody else, during his teams' greatest period of dominance.
Besides this statue is going to be in a public place so think of the children.

| Outrageous that Edwards isn't there! No point in even voting, without prejudice we all know who it SHOULD be!

Not sure how I feel about a statue of a rugby union coach to represent RL at Wembley . . . . .

| Edwards may have won those final BUT that was at a time when Wigan were effectively the only professional RL club. No problem with him not being there. Offiah was a one trick pony..flat out speed. Put a decent defense in front of him and he got rid of the ball quicker than anything. Of the individuals listed I'd go with Murphy BUT think out of the options listed a general one is best.
Personally I still think it should have been Don Fox. Lance Todd winner and THAT miss all in the same game. Now that sums up the challenge cup final..... Ecstacy and heartache.
