Yeah, if you watch some of the Waring stuff from the late 60s / early 70s (about the time when most homes finally got a telly of some sort) he was streets ahead of the garbage the Ray French churned out for years. |

I must confess to being massively critical of Waring when I was a you man... being one of the progressive young northerners from the 1970s I was convinced that Eddie's style was a blight on the game and should be removed... at the time I waould have happily seen him dragged throuogh the streets of Wakefield behind some dray horses...
maturity now tells me I was wrong, and he didn't do anything but good for our sport... indeed my wife (who was also young and innocent then) was one of his nurses in his final days....
I hope this doco comes to Australia soon as I look forward to seeing it!
