Can't believe I've got 5 ex-salford players in there, although I know most people would associate them with Wigan

| How can Gary Connolly be included? He was defensively solid, but just didn't have the all-round game. I know it's only opinion, but Garry Schofield and Joe Lydon walk in straight ahead of him, without anybody else.

| Steve Nash!! It was one of the biggest disgraces of the old selector system that Steve got selected over Reg Bowden, whose club form and results showed he was twice the player.

No wish to get into a slanging match but Bowden (great though he was) lacked a bit of pace for my money. Anyway, I have had another glass of wine and Nash is dropped in favour of Barry Seabourne (providing he can stay fit).

| Bowden was an inspirational, high energy player who was a tackling machine. He was an ideal choice to play against Australia in that era, although the selectors were idiots who still thought a scrum half's job was to get the ball away from the scrum quickly. The game was no longer RU! The fact that Widnes beat Australia and GB didn't says it all.

Bowden almost played as a 7th forward - in much the same way as Alan Redfearn at Bradford. As I say he was a great player but think you are a bit unfair on Nash - there was more to his game than shovelling the ball away from the scrum quickly. Anyway, there is no argument as Seabourne is now in at 7.

| This is not really 'All Time' since I never saw the likes of Jim Sullivan, Billy Batten, Harold Wagstaff, Nat Silcock, etc etc.
But anyway, based on players I've actually seen in the flesh, I'd select:
1. Jonathan Davies
2. Billy Boston
3. Joe Lydon
4. Neil Fox
5. Martin Offiah
6. Tony Myler
7. Alex Murphy
8. Kevin Ward
9. Keiron Cunningham
10. Andy Platt
11. Bill Ramsey
12. Vinty Karalius
13. Ellery Hanley
It'll probably change tomorrow when I have a few "how could I have forgotten whatsisname" moments.

No, the biggest disgrace was that Arnie 'Boxer' Walker wasn't selected ahead of either of them as he was better than both of them, he just played for an unfashionable team. Same applied to Billy Pattinson at loose foward.

I'd agree that Walker was better than Nash and on a par with Reg.
