More than happy to take Makinson off Saints hands so that him and Connor can work on their partnership at club level

| Good test match, great result.
For me the most promising thing looking towards the World Cup is the quality of players that weren’t playing today.
Depending on how players perform next season we have Hardaker, Ratchford, Manfredi, Johnston, Hall, Watkins, Percival, Widdop, Gale, Walmsley, Sutton, Roby, S Burgess, Currie, Ward and probably a few more I can’t thibk of at this moment who can challenge for a spot.
There are also a number of high quality youngsters, Trueman for example who could force their way in too.
England are in pretty good shape to put in a real challenge to win the WC.

| Makinson completely justified his selection by Bennet to Those (often wakey) fans lamenting Johnstone’s omission. Could TJ have finished as well as makinson? Yep probably-maybe would have done better when he threw that forward pass- but makinson demonstrated the toughness that’s needed at this level that I have yet to see in Johnston. That tackle on proctor was immense! And was by no means the only e celebrate defensive effort made-And he kept taking those shots and toughing it out. Brilliant - made up for him as he’s had it tough recently.

| The best thing about Connors performance yesterday was that he came back with a bang from a really tough first half. I keep saying it but we live to bulk up the NRL boys and bag our own but Connor has given Manu probably the toughest couple of weeks of his career to date.

| I was in the Kop yesterday, and I heard a few people talking about the game who were sat near me...they were obviously at their 1st RL match...and they absolutely loved it. I got the impression they were RU types....couple of Irish people as well. THIS is what the game needs to expand. Competitive international fixtures on a regular basis with good quality players on show.
GB v Aus every 2 or 4 years for the Ashes needs to be brought back IMO as well as regular internationals involving the home nations v south hemisphere.

| For the 3rd test, I would move Connor and Makinson to the right (it is their natural side), and put Percival and Johnstone to the left. With potentially no games next year, it would be a good opportunity to see if they have the necessary quality to prove themselves at international level

I’d stick with the team if fit and go all out for the whitewash. Incidentally, as I have said on here before we should always beat NZ. It’s been embarrassing in recent times to be beaten by them.

| The thing that pleased me about Connor, in a pre match interview, was his positivity when discussing his role and the expectations. No use of that dreaded (negative?) word "hopefully" that so many players scatter their language with these days.

Connor told the Hull Daily Mail that Bennett gave him a rocket at half time, and that spurred him on. To be fair i'd be scared of an angry Wayne Bennett too!

| I’d go with the same injuries/suspension permitting. Whilst a good win yesterday still room for improvement, can’t say we were great in that first half and if not for Makinson’s 2 try savers we could’ve be trailing 18-2.
Makinson was pretty much a 10/10, if he was only an 8/10 that’s probably a NZ win so I’d challenge the same lineup to be even better next week. We’ve had two close scores with great individual tries bring the decider, I think there’s the potential for them to go out and win more convincingly by a couple of scores if they get things right from the off and maintain it.
I’d imagine Clark won’t be fit though so Greenwood would come in for me and Milner can back up hooker. If George Burgess is suspended then with no more forwards I’d pick O’Loughlin if fit but if not that leaves Ratchford on the bench for utility value.

| Definitely same line up or close as is possible. We are building real momentum and to beat this kiwi side 3-0 with a few world class players missing makes a big statement.

| Gildart wasn't quite on the same page as the rest of the team at the weekend, Bennett dropped Percival when he did something similar so I would expect him to do likewise with Gildart and give the 3rd test gig to Percival.
