In that regard, he's as reliable as the promises made by his own club over the last six years HOWEVER, he is correct (so far) in his comments about the HXRLFC board - they need to release the details of the feedback or quietly accept it's findings.

The bid (without a backer) probably was weaker than Wakey's promises but you can sympathise with Michael's instant reactiom - how can you give a license to a club that plays out of a toilet and went into administration this year? It seems that you can be as reckless as hell whilst holding a license but then whilst you're on the naughty step and the yard arm approaches, you can make more promises.

The ONLY reason that Wakey are in SL is because of the failings of two clubs - Crusaders and Halifax. Don't anyone get the notion that they're "Super" in anyway because as of that Monday morning before Crusaders pulled out, they were about to be booted. So Dboy, fact me 'till I fart. Just a thought - If Wakey's bid was "marginally" better than Fax's and therefore possibly Leighs and Fevs next time round doesn't this demonstrate the gap between Championship and SL isn't that vast enough anymore to warrant a Franchise system and should revert back to P&R?

ie - say Leigh or Fev win league and get promoted, good recruitment in their off season would see them performing no worse in SL surely!

I suspect the RFL's feedback simply said:

"Stop bleating or you won't get in next time, either."

"It's not our BoD spouting a load of hot air at the time of the announcement and now retreating like an Italian tank division at all, they've been gagged by a wicked RFL-led conspiracy to stop the truth from ermerging..."

Going by the Fax statement, what areas their bid was weak in and why it failed, together with some constructive advice for if they choose to bid in 3 years or want to be on "stand-by" in case one of the other licence winners fail to fulfill.

Having not seen the bid, or been involved in the subsequent meetings, I can't tell you word for word the details of the conversation - only those involved in it can and neither side are likely to for their own reasons.

Asserting that Fax have backed down because they were threatened with being excluded from future franchise bidding rounds is the dribblings of a conspiracy theorist with absolutely zero evidence to back it up.

And the relevance to you of this protest is what exactly ?

Eh? Firstly, relevant from general interest as a fellow RL fan and secondly as a board member of another Supporters Trust, I was sad to see a Trust being used in such a misguided, ill-informed way.

Their chairman should also eat crow and apologise for the comments he made regarding Wakefield now that he has had time to get over his dissapointment.

So all supporters trusts are the same ? , they all have the same problems ? , they all support their clubs in the same way ? , all their clubs have the same problems ? , all their clubs are treated in the same way by the RFL ? all their clubs recieve a million plus each year in recompense for being on the TV ?

Tell me what a supporters trust purpose is , IYO
