The NRL has 3 FTA games a week with one of those being shown late into NSW and QLD each Friday night. These same games are shown after midnight in the other states (outside of ACT/NT which are regional anyway).
The Fumbleball has National coverage in all states and territories, in NSW alone I can watch Friday, Saturday afternoon, Saturday Night, Saturday late night and Sunday Afternoon Fumbleball on FTA TV.
Yet here we have so called RL fans putting the boot into RL because it has the audacity to say it has more people watching nation wide than the Fumbleball because we add U20's and SOO with internationals
As Dally said, the regionals have not been added, 1 game out of those 3 FTA RL games easily gets over half a million more people, that's adds up to quite a bit over a 32 round RL year doesn't it, yet they were not counted.
Some smart goes, so why does the AFL get more money?
1. Well Packer tried to shaft ch7 and 10, thus the AFL got more money.
2. The NRL is half owned by News limited, they deal with themselves and why would they give what they have to if it meant the investors didn't make as big a profit?
3. Ch9 also owns 25% of Foxtel (Newslimited's Foxsports) after the SL war, so RL no only is getting screwed by News, it's getting doubly screwed by ch9.
The AFL has none of this, and when RL does finally get rid of the people ruining our game, you can be sure it will get back to where it was in 1995, sitting high above laughing at the AFL.
Now the crowds, RL is strongest in the bush, if RL was condensed like Victoria with a central Stadium and all the trimming that it has with transport, I'd say RL's average crowd would be somewhere between 25/ 30,000.
A Lot of you people just can't comprehend how farking big Australia really is.
And as for Perth, I'm sick of hearing about how bad done by they were, yes they were and I'd like them back, but those idiots made their own bed (SL back stabbers), so they can damn well lie in it for a while longer whilst the NRL is dissolved and a new IC is put in place.
