Yeah, I'd be looking for ar0ound 30 points for that 5th place. Like you say though the teams generally look better this season so we may not see a runaway leader or such a points difference between the top 4 and the rest, which may have a knock on effect to the points needed.

Lolohea is very overrated and very overweight, Konrad Hurrell has been rubbish for years and it’ll be a battle to keep him fit. Watkins is coming back from a serious injury that he may never fully recover from. For some reason you left off Trent Merrin who is their best signing. Leeds may well scrape top 5 but they certainly won’t be a force to be reckoned with with the squad they have.

I heard it’s 3 month. If that trio can’t play together for 3 month then you won’t win enough early season games to make the top 5 - just a thought.

Some are some aren’t. Matches vs lower league teams aren’t really anything. SL v SL matches, whilst no guarantee of how you’ll go in the season can offer a BIT of insight if they go really good or really bad for a team. If you lose to a close rival by 30-40 points it might suggest you’ve got a few issues heading into the season.

My message was tongue in cheek since this is what Jean claimed earlier when talking about Leeds v Cas.

Ultimately, they are all, by definition, meaningless.
I'm sure that every pre season game give the respective coaches some pointers about things they may need to change or improve but, they are meaningless.
You are right to say that no side (assuming they are equal in strength, wants to get done by 30/40 points but, even these games count for nothing when the season starts.
