There are a few I would drop, but all in all, it's been stuff like not chasing the ball and putting feet in touch. Lying on in the tackle etc.'"
jesus christ i agree with bewareshadows going for a nap... Great opening game just needed to be more clever. hopefully o'loughlin fit as burgess will miss the next game.

If you think Australia's defence will be that awful at the back end of the tournament and their attacking fluency that bad you can't have been watching Rugby League long. England haven't got much more to give - they tagetted this game and whilst they were positive and went for the win they came up quite a way short. Too many mistakes and just didn't hold onto the ball. They need to play positively in bursts and be much more patient and controlled nost of the time. When Australia link better to their back line they'll be a different proposition.

| If you were looking for the perfect result (and game) to increase England's chances of winning the RLWC ( I said increase that's all ), then that would be it. Not blown away so as to be demoralized, but no early win against an undercooked Aus to give us a false sense of where we're at, only to get stuffed in the (hopefully) final. Hopefully the players realize that at their absolute best, they have a chance, but they will indeed need to be at that level.

| I thought some players had really good games but were let down by some players who were very poor.
The balanc of the side and use of subs were "questionable".

| I'd be surprised if Burgess cops a ban, it was a lazy arm.
Can you EGP in International RL.

I don't care who they put out. But there must be 10 better props than Mossop available. With Graham & O'L back he must be out. I would leave out Ablett as well; I like him as a player but think he is just short at this level. All the other forwards went well.

| We weakened when Mossop, Ablett and to a lesser extent Tom Burgess were on. Westwood is also a liability. Fewer mistakes and maybe the odd call actually going our way would have seen us home. A decent game overall good start to the tournament.

If we can beat Ireland. Too many chickens being counted. 20 minutes against an overly relaxed, undercooked Australia is NOT the performance people are trying to claim. I have seen England GB / England play alot better than that many times and still lose. We need to improve massively to do anything in this tournament. Not sure how that'll happen though.

| Englands best chance of winning the world cup (lol) was by beating australia, winning the group, then getting the ''easier'' semi while NZ and australia played each other......with NZ who have the capability beating australia winning.
England then get to play NZ who we don't have such a psychological barrier against.
.....As it is, same old same old.
How many times have we said the same things? We played well! If it wasn't for that one stupid miss tackle, that wrong penalty, that forward pass decision, that silly aus try we should have stopped etc etc etc.
Australia were at about 60%. We don't have too much more to give, except less errors. So if aus play to their standard and we cut out the silly mistakes, australia win by about an extra 10/16.
Semi at best.

| I wasn't sure about Chris hill but he proved me wrong.
Good player.
Mossop needs to be replaced with James graham.
Ferres also looked good.
Hope oloughlan makes it back.
Burrow also needs to be on the bench
Tom burgess I'm undecided about
Unless widdop starts why is he in the bench???
England won't win the wc but hopefully they will raise the standards and cause at least one big upset.

| Can't believe an NRL club have signed Mossop, strugglers or not. He's not a bad player, but certainly not international (yet anyway)
