Where did I say Roman was "fine"? Oh, I didn't.
Abramovich just doesn't act like a pillock.

If you knew the half of how Abramovich acted to get his fortune then you'd realise how stupid you sound.

| Honestly, you couldn't make this up!
Around about this time last year, Salford had Matty Smith bought out of his remaining contract by Wigan. Daniel Holdsworth was signed by Hull FC whilst still contracted to Salford (engineered by the man who brought him to the country). Moon was 'injured' for the last half a dozen games of the season, took Salford to a tribunal in an attempt to get out of his contract, and when a move to the NRL failed to materialise subsequently popped up at Headingley as it was all of 45 miles closer to Australia. With a year still to go on his contract.
Do we see a pattern emerging here? On none of these occasions did I see page after page after page of indignation from the rugby league family suggesting that the money men at Wigan, Hull or Leeds had acted in an illegal or even 'classless' manner. Three of Salford's best player (heck, three of the best players in the league) had all left the club whilst under contract. Life goes on...
Koukash has publicly made one ill-judged comment (even though we all know what he was getting at, and he had worked out what has been going on for years having been involved in the game for a matter of minutes). Since then he has made legitimate attempts to secure the services of Sam Tomkins and Adrian Morley. One was knocked back, one was accepted months later. No dramas, everybody moves on. He has seemingly made an official bid for Tim Smith which appears to have been gratefully accepted by their new Chairman, and another offer for another of their players has been rejected. Again, nothing to see here. I don't recall seeing him comment on much since and certainly not on any of the dozens of players we have been linked with. He has even refrained from naming the majority of the signings until this week at the request of the clubs involved. Very gracious, see?
On Thursday he gets the opportunity to announce a new club name, kit, logo. Season tickets will be on sale immediately afterwards. There may even be some merchandise for we hardcore fans to purchase. With the money he has ploughed into the club and the sport, I'd suggest he's got every right to have a good go at promoting his efforts. Eight months ago Salford didn't have a prayer. Forgive us if we are grateful to the man for the position we now find ourselves in and for the promising times ahead...

| Fair play and if more men like him were to get involved in the game it would be all the better for it.
Enjoy the ride.

I'm well aware of what Ambramovich got up to, I'm pretty sure I alluded to it in a previous post. What he hasn't done since taking over at Chelsea is needlessly wind people up. Doc K has publicly stated he will cheat the rules and has named a race horse after a player he almost certainly has bought after agreeing not to make signings public. He also likes to make public offers and overtures for players which will always put opposition fans noses out of joint.
You hardly hear a peep out of Hetherington and in return no one talks about him much. Same can be said of Lenagan If you're gonna have a gobby owner you can expect people to talk about them and with the stuff Koukash says you can expect people to take a disliking. The last mouthy owner in RL I can remember is Maurice Lindsay. There wasn't the same volume of online forums then but that lads name was muck and I'm sure he would have filled just as many if not more pages than Dr K.
But despite all of that, best of luck to Salford next year. The game needs cash and this guy seems happy to spread it about. He may already have given Wakefield a lifeline and I hope that Cas will make good use of his loot as well. I hope that he starts to attract a few more fans through the Salford turnstyles as well (not to mention get a few more travelling to away games). Just don't expect everyone to like the guy.

And as I've said before, you mean in your jealous little heart you hopes it ends in tears!

| I like him, i like his vigour and ideas as to how Super League (as a whole) should be run. If anyone says they liked the way Super League was before him then they are telling porkies as it was dull and dour.
I'm glad he got involved and is spending the money hat makes me believe he wants to stay involved, exciting times to be a Salford fan.

| As far as I know {which is seeing the [iQI[/i episode with Clare Balding} all that's needed to name a horse after a living person is their permission - and for it to have not been used before - so Koukash could call his next horse Jodie Broughton, George Burgess or Paul Wellens if said person agreed to it.

I think the photo of Koukash with Rangi and most of the Cas squad at Chester Racecourse a few weeks back showed that a) they have obviously met, and b) it was hardly a secret.
