Playing well & scored a try last week, will probably get picked for England.

| I like Wardle and would have him in the top 4 British Centres in SL.
The two centres should be Watkins and Sarginson, with Reed as backup if he plays well in the NRL.
On a side note, why are Leeds playing Watkins on the wing, such a waste.

| Quote: SecondRowSaint "Watkins is our best centre. Sarginson did nothing wrong and actually made me admire him last autumn in the 4 nations, as I thought he'd not do much. After him I'd want Percival knocking on the door, but he's still a bit young yet.'"
I agree with is, throw Cudjoe and Jack Reed in there as well. Wardle is just big, not international quality IMO.
Quote: SecondRowSaint "I'd heard Armstrong had Improved so watched him closely against Salford. He had a poor game and took a lot of wrong options.
As for a comment on this thread that the championship isn't that far behind superleague...how? Leigh aside and possibly Bradford most sides would get 50+ put on them each week.'"
Completely correct. Armstrong is a talented player but does his own thing which doesn't make him popular with coaches. He would be excellent if he followed instructions (like Lee Gaskill) but he doesn't so he isn't.
Middle 8's will prove how big the gap is, I suspect the answer will be huge.

Watkins is on the wing because with both Briscoe & Hall injured he's the best option for the team.
As soon as Hall is back Watkins will be back at centre.

I would say Wardle is a better option for England than Cudjoe. Cudjoe is just too unreliable as an international standard player and always looks like he has a schoolboy error or two in him, or a bad missed tackle that could happen at the worst time and against the big 2 you can't afford to have players like that.

| Wardle plays for scotland along with Brough.
Also he is viewed in the long term as being a 2nd rower... last few games he has switched due to ferris being out injured.
At centre the winger doesnt get much service from wardle as hes not the best passer... but he runs very very hard, misses quite a few tackles too though

| Why are powerful centres converted to back row?
Nathan brown was obsessed with it. Wardle, Lawrence (Hudds), Jones (saints) off the top of my head have all been converted to back row when they could be excellent centres.

| Cudjoe is usually rock solid, and did not look out of place against the Aussies in the world cup, if he can get his best form back he is up there with the best - and has the ball handling a top centre needs too
Wardle is good, but can be soft in defence at times - his stats are similar to Watkins though

| Watkins and Sarginson must be in pole position. Watkins is the stand out centre in superleague and Sarginson was excellent last year in the four nations. His form has really got going these past few weeks and his nightmare against Bridge was a one off blip IMO.
Watkins and Sarginson first choice with one of Jack Reed or Percival backing them up IMO.

You must watch a different Cudjoe to the one that I do as his ball handling is awful. He can't throw a simple pass out and tries ridiculous basketball style flicks instead.

Watched plenty of him over the years, the difference is I don't watch him through rose tinted glasses. next you'll be saying Brough and Crabtree are international quality.

| I would have thought Percival will very shortly knocking on the international door, excellent natural centre just needs a good run of games know to shop window his talents, one for the future sooner than later.

| Watching Cudjoe on Thursday against Leeds gave me cold sweats! Not only at the thought of him playing for England again but how he ever did in the first place. He just doesn't look for his winger! The amount of times he could get his winger in half a yard yet decides to shuffle in with the ball himself is shocking.
Average winger IMO.
