| Shocking from us, lightweight forwards, no one knowing each others role, Mike Monaghan is not a loving 7, Cull and Lowes found that out the hard way.
Asotasi off tonight looks a lazy and offers little penetration.
Have another x-ray Lee just to make sure.
Oh and Bentham was easily their man of the match, we were on the ropes but he played his part in pinning us back.
Soliola, Wilkin, & Turner will all be let off though using the Bowen defence.

Nope. I think, I wouldn't complain if the Soliola hit was given a game (only complaint would be the Bowen defence) Wilkin and turner were nothing more than grabs IMO
Edit: also wire won the penalty count (was 6 - 3 10 minutes to go I think) so it's hardly benthams fault - giving us back the ball every time you made a break was more so!

I think Soliola was. His was a bad impact, but wasn't aimed that high and deflected up. Turner's wasn't as bad and was instinctive as he was stepped rather than malicious or dangerous. Wilkin's wasn't even a penalty, he grabbed the shirt around the collar bone, it was Myler's (?) speed that made it look spectacular.

| A good game for the Saints fan. Not sure about the neutral viewer. But it was Saints at Warrington, so what did people expect??

| Was a decent game I thought, especially for the first of the season. Wire started really well, moving the ball brilliantly. Partly Saints stepped it up but also partly Wire stopped moving the ball as much.
A couple of soft tries conceded from Wires point of view.
Saints forwards were good but I felt it was more Wires mistakes with the ball that really benefitted Saints. Admittedly that partly came from Saints good defence, but after the first 15 mins Warringtons attack was pretty poor. Just looked slow and uncertain compared to the start of the game.
I thought the likes of Westwood and Monaghan were over-playing and trying to miracle a play instead of just taking the tackle and going again.
Thought both Wheeler and Walsh looked good for Saints and the likes of Turner really benefitted from the halves playing well.

Myler is a very poor player. He will be exposed this season big time. Briers carried him for years.

I disagree, myler is very good at what he does, unfortunately that's not what Warrington need him to do. He's a lot like maguire imo, great at being able to capture attention with individual plays, but suffers from the same inability of being able to step up and guide the team around (that said Maguire has stepped up in age to be much better at this)
Warrington are going to struggle to craft him into an organising half this year IMO, which seemed to be their biggest problem.

| Saints/wigan/hull/huddersfield/warrington/leeds play well in opening game. Sky commentators - ''Is this the year of XXX?'''
Good win for saints, clearly wanted to set down an early marker after some of the dissapointments of last year. You can never really read too much into the first few games. Last year huddersfield thrashed saints at home yet when the season [ireally[/i started there was only one game difference between the 2, and both finished with no GF.
