| McGuire? Jesus christ. Ablett, Bailey, Delaney, Jones Bishop, and every other Leeds player (bar Brent Webb) should have been ahead of him.

| McGuire was directly at fault for for Wigan's 1st and 3rd try, and was mediocre in attack. Whoever voted for him should not be writing abou Rugby League. Hoffman (Wigan) and Burrow (Leeds) were the outstanding players for me, though obviously Bentham and Hicks were MVPs.
I went to the 1996 St.Helens-Bradford scorefest final on a corporate freebie. I was sat bang next to the press box, and got given a Lance Todd voting sheet by a Silk Cut representative, which I dutifully filled in. Perhaps something similar happened today.

| I would have gone for Deacon. Organised, consistent and involved every time Wigan went forward.

| Jeff Lima becomes the first prop since 1980 to win the lance todd trophy! It wernt just his attack what was key it was some of the huge shots he put on aswell.

I thought Delaney popped up all over the place, playing a forward in defence and an extra centre in offence. He needed to score a try to get the recognition, Lima put in 2 big hits and 2 try's and as there were not really any individual stand out individual performances, I suppose they went with the official flow and favour a Wigan player.

Completely agree. Burrow blew him off the park but can understand why being on the losing side meant he failed to win it. People are only ejaculating over Delaney because they are used to him being so poor, he wasn't MOM material yesterday. Buderus was a let down not helped by the fact his forwards were poor in his first spell.

| Was thinking of names earlier that i thought had a great game and i was really struggling to find Wigan names and plucking Leeds names straight away.
I thought Chris Clarkson, Brett Delaney, Ryan Hall, Jeff Lima, Joel Tomkins, Thomas Leulia and Rob Burrow who imo was the turning point of the Leeds comeback becuase when he came on there was a real spark and Leeds' came was twice the speed and caught Wigan off guard.

| Those involved in the voting don't care who wins the award. Most of them just ask certain members of the panel who should win, and vote for them, while enjoying the corporate hospitality.
