My mistake! Thanks for the correction!

| Quote: Budgiezilla "40% of the 200K that we'll get from the RFL funding. That is all we are going to spend on players for next season (allegedly).
All the other players accepted 'pay offs' or signed for other clubs. Kevin Larroyer should be able to find another club, but Rhys Evans (on 80K a season) was injured constantly, but has a 3 year deal.
Derek Beaumont has helped create this 'mess' but he's not prepared (this time) to bankroll us out of it. It happened to one of the biggest clubs in Bradford Bulls, so the fact that it is happening to Leigh Centurions is hardly 'earth shattering'.'"
Wow 80k a year. Heard Widnes want him

| As I understand it the RFL are giving Leigh £200k. 40 % is for two players which works out at £80 k.
Bearing in mind Beaumont’s previous contributions to get Leigh into SL. I would guess that 80K is not much for him yet he seems to be trying to blame two players for Leigh going out of business, which ever way you look at is wrong to blame two players . Pay them the money nd let them move

Well said, 40k each is hardly mega money, Beaumont is trying to publicly humiliate the players to bully them out of taking the money they’re owed, we should have a players union to stand up for the players in this type of situation.

I'm sure Kevin Larroyer will find another club anyway, and a decent one. Not sure about Rhys Evans with 'his many injuries' last season though.

Good luck with that one. Rhys had missed much of the previous season at Warrington, when we signed him. He only played a handful of games last season, for us. (Larroyer 'bust a gut' for the entire season, and was still giving 80 minutes a game, throughout the awful Championship Shield series)

| Quote: Mr Dog "Only RFL approved clauses are allowed in players' contracts. Whilst there is one to permit termination of the contract on relegation (at least from SL, not sure about C to L1) one for failing to make Top 4/promotion isn't.'"
Cheers for that, but there have been tales of instances of 'unusual' clauses in their contracts.
e.g. Ryan Brierley's apparent 'follow Paul Rowley' clause.
e.g. The rumoured clauses in some of our contracts, quoting Super League and Championship salaries, on relegation - hence an argument that certain contracts shouldn't be considered 'null & void' on relegation from SL. (a group of our former players were still contesting their departure following relegation)

| I hope Evans stands his ground and demands his full wage from Leigh. The league is distorted by clubs spending money they can’t afford anyway and this is another example of it. As others have said, if Leigh had offered him a contract they could actually afford then he may have gone elsewhere.
Beaumont has been shown up as the loudmouth pillock that he is. Happy to take the adulation when things are good but sods off as soon as it gets tough.
Leigh should pay what they owe or go bust and reform in League 1.

He's only doing it because he has yet to find another club, and he has no chance of 'another payday' that Leigh gave him (in writing). If it's so unfair why have the other players (bar 2) accepted pay-offs, or signed for another club then ?

| You may well be correct Budgiezella, but unless we know the circumstances of all the individuals involved, it's difficult to access who has the moral ground. At the end of the day, this needs to be resolved, DB to cut all ties with Leigh Centurians and the club to draw a line under this particular chapter in order to move forward.

Agreed, something needs to be done. Leigh have no players, and can't sign any till the issue is resolved.

So. If Leigh didn’t want to pay him that money they shouldn’t have signed a contract saying they would. He’s not demanding anything more than he is owed.
Maybe it suits those other players, that’s their prerogative. Players shouldn’t be guilt-tripped into taking less than their contractual wage.
Put it this way, if you were headhunted in your job by another company who said they’d pay you 20% more than you’re currently getting paid. So you move to them. Then a year later they ask you to take a 60% pay cut. Would you say yes? With no qualms whatsoever? Regardless of whether you’d raised your living costs commensurate with your wage rise?
And then, if you prevaricate or say no, the company goes to the press and says it’s your fault they can’t trade anymore, would you accept that?
I’d be effing furious with them and try and get every penny owed to me.

Something will be done. You will go into administration(not pay the players you owe money to) and suffer a year at the bottom of the championship then go down or just go down which is probably the best option for all.
We will see you sometime in the late 2020's.

| Quote: Nothus "Is administration an option when you actually have the capital available to pay off the creditors but just don't want to?'"
You can liquidate the company - but that would involve collecting all the debt in, paying all the creditors and then paying a dividend with any remaining funds.
You can call in adminstrators to close the business down but normally it only happens if you are insolvent and its usually a creditor that appoints them
