30596_1286642206.jpg If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

| Don't deserve that.
There are some positives, we were much, much better in that second half.
Not saying we should have won but a couple of bounces of the ball and a couple of calls and that game is a lot closer than 14 points.

| Quote: Noel Cleal "A little OT here but I am annoyed that we always seem to get Australia in the first game. Would an unpredictable game against New Zealand with the loser likely to play Australia in the semi be a better option?
I have a feeling we could do well but maybe just come short at the end. Australia by 14 points (24-10 maybe).
I would rather us not win strangely enough, I think we need to show the world we are better than NZ and we are only likely to get the chance to prove that if we lose the opener.'"
Damn!

| Quote: Roy Haggerty "That penalty decision to give be the game to Australia was shocking. Far worse than the inability to see back-to-zero touches.
England had the best of the second half but in very tight matches like this, crap refereeing makes a real difference.'"
oh god, another one, how sad, you soap dodgers really are a few rungs up in the whinging & whining stakes haha

You have to admit though at half time it was looking ominous.

| Lots to take away from that, not many changes needed, but Lomax shouldn't play, embarrassingly slow. I wouldn't be surprised if Widdop moved to FB and Williams brought in at 6. Also, I'd play Roby for the full 80, and have another prop on the bench.
Whitehead with about 2 carries all game, he's a flat track bully

| Lots to take away from that??? hmmmm yeah, Australia will improve by a long way, i feel good about the Australian effort, they usually start at an exceptional level & other teams improve, tonight they left themselves a lot of wiggle room to improve

| Genuinely feel the England team were on the wrong end of some baffling decisions in that game, The JM knock on with the man in the ruck? All my years of watching NRL and SL, i`ve never heard "It was a dominant tackle" for an excuse for a player to be lying in the ruck.
Cant of been that dominant if he was stood up quick enough and play the ball correctly and the player was left at the PTB? What did the ref want him to do step of the mark to play the ball? Would he of penalized him for moving of the mark?

| McGillvary was England's best player. Wouldn't look out of place in the NRL.
England were poor 1st half but played well second half.

What nationality is the referee?

| I didn't think the ref was bad. Let the game run and rarely used his whistle. Yeah a couple of decisions were debatable but the ref was good.

It was in Melbourne, what do you expect?
Although a state of origin in Melbourne, that stadium wouldn't be big enough
