| Quote: BackrowSaint "I'd have Bridge, Shenton, Lawrence, Gleeson and maybe Atkins and Welham at centre before Joel Tomkins. Infact add Kallum Watkins to that list. He's a talented second rower and deserves a place on the bench just for that. Ahead of Hock who hasn't played for 2 years
get used to it....joel tomkins is the long term answer to our woes

He is a gifted backrower and is going well this year. I think next year he will still be U18's. Playing him at centre would be daft.

That is what he is Perhaps you would like to see the lad play at centre and have less of a chance at being a SL professional? I doubt that nathan brown and the coaching staff at the giants will sacrifice a lad's career to satisfy your ill informed hang up.

| a 6'5" , 95kg+ big,strong,athletic having less chance of being a SL professional??...yeah cos their ten a penny are'nt they
you know what?? last year i suggest wigan move joel tomkins to the ...12months laters he's the wigan ...he'll be for england next friday..and for england in the 4nations and i'm ill imformed ....so when you and all the kids coaches get over your hang ups about sticking big kids in the forwards is when we start matching the aussies...cos the simple fact is if jamal idris & greg inglis were brits we'd have stuck them in the pack instead of having them run rampage down the wings...

| It's not just at the junior levels that this mentality exists, unfortunately.
I've heard plenty of Leeds fans campaigning for Ryan Hall to move into the centres or second row on the basis of his size. Never mind the fact he's got probably the best tries to games ratio of any current English winger, he's clearly been playing in the wrong position all these years...

| It seems an obsession with RL fans in general that all Wingers should be or fullbacks, all full backs are stand offs, and all could be second rowers.
If Big Les came through in this country he would have been a prop

| Seems everyone has forgotten Luke Robinson was one of Englands few players to perform well in the 4N, his form is good again this season and yet he is overlooked by almost all team selections.
People complain that we are picking the same old and then leave out one face that showed he can step up.
Robbo and Roby in at 9 and interchange.
