Here we go again. From a fan of a club who had Stephen Vaughan at the helm.
If you want dodgy, just look at the Widnes 'profit' figures. From a £800K loss in 2008 (average crowds 4,517) to a £1M profit in 2009 (average 3,80icon_cool.gif. The 700 drop in attendances alone equates to 7,000 over the 10 home league games which roughly means a £70,000 loss at the turnstiles. Amazing isn't it !?!? If you were liquidate all the Widnes assets, you'd get change from a quid. That's the real figure the RFL should be looking at, not the smoke and mirrors of turnover.

Let's face it, none of the 3 planned stadiums at Salford, Wakefield or Cas will be ready for the start of the 2012 season, never mind the license decision in July 2011 - so all of those 3 clubs are in the same boat.
Also, signing a disclaimer means nothing, as the decision is down to the RFL who can justify their choice in any manner they like. There are a whole host of legal avenues that can be looked into by the club who is booted out. Although they like to think so, the RFL are not above the laws of the land. Once the reality sets in of 3 years in the Championship on a £300K salary cap and people are losing their jobs, the RFL could find themselves in the mother of all legal wrangles.

Why what part of the law says you can't relegate a club? They aren't doing anything illegal in this so on what basis do you sue? Your only entitled to the SKY monies if in SL, so if not in SL your not. Simple as that really the only rules around P&R are set by the RFL so not a legal issue outside of RL.

What's that got to do with it, the word had answers any point. Not now and due to him we went into admin and all debts to him cleared.
It's not ticket science are figures is it? People bang on about big loss to big gain as if it's a shock. Simple SO'C takes over and in year one pays off outstanding bills from previous administration, does up seats & installs electric ticketing system. Sets up new club offices with top range equipment these are all ONE off payments and this was done with very few sponsors as had to be done quick from administration.
Year two you don't have any costs bar basic running costs we win the NRC and bring in a shed load of sponsors with again no 'extra' expenditure. Simple case of taking the financial hit all at once and then reaping the benefits in years after. Is it that hard to understand?

| At the end of the day Barrow could & should be strong candidates for a SL place HOWEVER you can't just sit there telling us all what you COULD do IF in SL you need to start showing something. I mean come on you shut down reserve side after a fee first team injuries on what basis would you have a full SL set up & improve stadium & get first team upto scratch? You seem to make the SKY money go and awful long way! You need to have the basics in place and use extra money to IMPROVE things like stadium & youth not to create them from scratch. ATM all Barrow can do is put out a strong first team that is not enough anymore... That's the whole point of this system!

They are doing it because they know they need to average 10,000 per game to break even in SL , their attendance chart is virtually flat meaning an extra 1,100 people can be accomadated fairly cheaply if there was room for them

We need to become self sufficient (sp) we know this that is why we are doing the work.
Oh and BTW there is a fair chance that work to extend the east stand again will be starting tommorrow.
Oh and one other thing we work at full cap so we cant spend anymore on players HTH.

I don't see how.The club that loses it's SL status will be a club who were awarded a 3 year licence from the start of season 2009.That licence will expire at the end of 2011.Quits.Nobody was promised anything beyond 2011,no club was given a six year licence.

Surely the issue is that clubs have been told that one SL club will lose the licence and that a championship club will be granted a licence all irrespective of the quality of their bids. It seems to me that, as soon as they made that announcement, the RFL was in danger of not operating according to its own rules. Must confess I don't actually know what the rules are but if all SL bids are better (or even just as good) than the eligible championship teams' they've got a big problem.

I think it's pretty clear they have decided that! Remember the RFL has been checking up on clubs 'promises' and 'improvement areas' since day one so they'll have a good idea where all clubs are at. With no new stadiums built they have clearly decided someone must face the music for not getting it done in the promised time frame in 2007.
