| I see the ask the ref twitter thing didn't answer the question about the wiped tackle count reversal.
But Childs tonight deserves a medal. I'm very critical of the refereeing standards in SL, but he was superb. Penalised the rampant indiscipline in the first half and the game didn't half benefit from that second half. To do that in Warrington's back yard under such pressure showed some steel. Credit to him.

He did have a good game, for a change.
I really wish refs would start penalising players for diving & trying to milk penalties though. Was rife tonight and not good to see.

Nice to see that you have accepted Leeds lost because they were not good enough to win.

Not great in my view.
He completely lost control in the first half; how many warnings did Wire get? I don't think Saints got a single penalty in the second half, so not a single incidence of offside or interference.
He should have issued a yellow card or two to both sides in the first half to sort things out earlier than he did.

Not sure I've said otherwise anywhere but if it makes you feel better to make things up then fill your boots.
Do feel free to respond to Big Jim properly when you get a minute too. Looks like your finger slipped last time.

Child binned our player last week after a team warning after 3 back to back pens, yet last night despite a barrage of pens and backchat he failed to take action. That level of penalties in a game seem to only happen in games child refs, is he working to a different rule book to the rest??

| Quote: Big Jim Slade "Are you stupid or being deliberately obtuse?
I'm clearly talking about the one element of the game that can be effected and improved through the use of technology - refereeing and the application of the laws. The knock on for example, no issue at all with Silverwood seeing it wrong, but the video ref would have immediately seen the same replay we did and could (and IMO should) have told Silverwood to give head and feed to Leeds.
To use your peculiar example it's like Sarginson being given the opportunity to run the three man overlap again and still opting not to pass. To get it wrong in the heat of the moment is understandable, but to still get it wrong when given the opportunity to review and change is not on.
You can keep spouting your inane crap about players making mistakes all you like, because those mistakes are and have to be part of the game. These refereeing mistakes don't have to be when a VR is present.'"
What you need to realise about Leaguefan is that he talks out of his backside constantly.
You've seen when talking about the match officials he has come up with pearlers like:
"In your perfect world doesn't anyone makes errors?"
and
"You seek perfection, it just is not possible. human beings are involved."
Quite ironic comments considering the amount of bile he spouts in the direction of the Sky commentators when they make mistakes. Ask him about his thoughts on Eddie and Stevo?
Don't wind him up too much though otherwise he'll throw a hissy fit, create a topic saying he's leaving and he's not coming back, to which no-one actually gave a toss about

He certainly likes the sound of his whistle.
Still haven't forgiven him for the 42 ?? penalties in the Wakefield v Cas millennium game in Cardiff a few seasons back.

| Who was reffing the Wigan v Widnes game? The wonder try Clarke was spraying it about over should have been a no try. Hampshire was about four foot in front when the kick was put in.
The extent of his coaching is ''BASH EM, JUST F*CKING BASH EM. HE'S LOW ON CONFIDENCE, BASH HIM''
He's a limited coach that won't last long term.[/quote:8f22o6ue]
....
That would make Wigan strong favourites then. With Ratchford at FB and Patton with Cronk in the halves, I think we'll do very well without Sam.[/quote:8f22o6ue]: |

| Some more baffling and inconsistent decisions in the hull derby as well.
Michaels' second try is a clear strip of the ball, is it not? So how is that play on? Cummings had it right and said he would not have awarded the try.
And then Abdull's run later in the second half involved him running behind some FC players stood in the Rovers defensive line - but completely ignored and FC get a scrum feed? What?

As a Hull fan I was very surprised that we got the call with those two incidents. The strip, obviously they've ruled he was just trying to complete the tackle but even if I put put my best black and white specs on I struggle to see it that way.
The obstruction was 50/50. It was very similar to the Leeds one last week and for that reason I was surprised that they were happy with it. The scrum feed was because the pass was touched by Kelly.
Most of the on field decisions were pretty much on the money I thought, and Silverwood kept the game flowing well.

| I honestly thought that whilst Michaels hand touched the ball it wasn't a strip and Sio lost control. as the ref has given it there isn't enough clear evidence to overturn it.
