| Quote: Ferocious Aardvark "It was poor and surprising from Sinfield, but it doesn't deserve more than a 1 match ban. I'd call it sending-off sufficient personally, taking into account that Dorn did get in his face, and that while Sinfield did inexplicably but Dorn, it was a "shove my face into yours" type of butt and not a decent Glasgow kiss, with accompanying crunch and blood.
If Sinfield gets a 3 or 4 match ban then it is in his particular case well OTT both taking into account his record and what he actually did.
What was refreshing was watching a sport where Dorn doesn't flinch, and just looks at Sinfield with a mix of bemusement and shock. In the World Cup, it would have justified a backward swallow dive with triple Salko, a seemingly epileptic, face-clutching fit and floor bang, ten minutes of treatment by at least 6 doctors and paramedics, and stretchering off.'"
Yep. 1 match ban for me.
Kris Welham received no suspension and no fine from the disciplinary and wasn't sent off during the game despite being penalised for a headbutt back in February. Ironically against the same player and with the same referee.

1 match and loss of MBE maybe.

| it really is laughable the comments on here.
Firstly we have an 'assault' from a player whom headbutts another player unprovoked but we have people saying there's nothing in it, it wasn't agressive, it's not a 'proper' headbutt etc.
Sinfields headbutt is a worse an incident than Hock's IMO, you have a very influential player both on AND importantly off the field doing something hugely wrong, out of character or not.
Giving Sinfield a lenient sentence just says it's acceptable to headbutt, it isn't a face rub, it's an intended, agressive attack on another person. Another time we could be looking at a serious injury to a player, that's why we heavily penalise (or should be) attacks to the head/body so that we lessen the chance of ending someones career or worse hospitalising them.
Yes there was no real damage done, but that is more to luck than design, but that should not influence any punishment meted out.
That people here are seemingly so acceptive of these types of incidents as being part of the game and just a bit of biff (which is bollox btw) is ridiculous.
You can have controlled agression (isn't that what's RL supposed to be about??) and by giving far too much leeway on stuff like this you're basically saying everyone else can do it and it isn't all that big a deal and will go relatively unpunished.
What follows is that kids (because they are easily influenced by these things despite being told otherwise) do exactly as the adults do and headbutting is just not acceptable in any shape or form.

You say that no damage was done to Dorn shouldn't influence the decision (which I think is correct btw)
But also highlight Sinfield being an influential player on and off the pitch as if it should be treated more strict because of that reason.
Make up your mind on the context/individuals involved lol

| I believe that the Leeds police should be allowed to confiscate and examine Sinfield's computers. If they do I suspect that they will find that before the game the perpetrator had been doing Google searches for videos of "Cliff Watson" and "Liverpool kiss."

Where did I say treated more harshly?
I said upthread he should get (at least) 3 games, he agressively headbutted a player (totally unprovoked) that is a clear Grade E, if you were to take into account his previous disciplinary record then that should get him down to 3-4 match ban. anything less like the one match bans suggested here is absolutely ludicrous..but this is RL fans afterall where yet again more experts are far more keen on ridicule than giving proper arguements to support their suggestion.

If that is an aggressive headbutt and a grade e, then how do you define grade D or C headbutt?

1. Define unprovoked. This isn't Ryan Bailey. Sinfield has a great record so something got to him.. this is the second time this season Luke Dorn has been headbutted, it would lead us to believe he is not Mr innocent.
2. You're an ass if you really believe that was a grade E offence. You clearly have an agenda.

Nowhere, that's why I never used the word "harshly" myself.
You clearly highlight his influence though as if that should be a factor.
Surely if you're wanting the 'fair' decision you claim then it doesn't matter whether it's a 400+ game legend or somebody with barely 20 games to his name.
You trolled, you failed.

Well Dorn is innocent. It's like saying because Sinfield gets roughed up every week, that he must be doing something to upset the opposition.
Anyone with eyes can see theres is no provocation. Sinfields made a mistake but still should suffer consequences.
Anyway for a feeling the RFL will come up with a grade A offence and then get 0 games for his good record.

Got to agree regarding Dorn. At worst (and I use that term loosely) he MIGHT'VE asked the ref to bin Sinfield. But I've seen Sinfield on the end of much worst physical things and I assume he's heard just about everything on the field during his career.
Any slight finger pointing at Dorn is desperate really, and I'm one of Sinfield's biggest fans at Leeds.

Trolled, yeah, whatever!
Yes, you said treated more strictly, I never said that either, either you're being obtuse or you just don't understand?
Clearly from what I've said I'm saying he should get exactly what the grading says he should takig into account his previous disciplinary record, however what he has done is extremely serious & that IMO at least his headbutting is worse than Hocks idocy barging into the ref. IF any overdue leniancy is given toward Sinfield then this and other similar scenarios that we've seen go innapropriately punished (Bowen was the start of it this season) does have further negative connatations attached to it with regard rugby league (& beyond). it effects how players play the game and the increased likelihood of players from all age groups/std doing what they like without fear of a proper disciplinary reprisal.
It's a micro climate of how society goes, you don't punish people properly others go off and do what they like and things spiral from there.
So, if you think that's trolling then fine, it's the idiotic responses that say nothing (except jibes to which I'll always respond in kind) and don't back up any cogent arguement to back up what's being said.
