Whose playbooks?

This is not always as it seems. I attended a seminar with Tony Smith (and yes I have played and have been coaching for twelve years) and he stated that Warrington do not practice attacking set plays as he trusts the players to solve the problem of how to score on the field and to play what they see. However, this is an elite, experienced group of players so it does make it easier to allow that to happen. When dealing with less talented players a set move or even a full scripted set of six (for an example an exit set) might be needed.

The one thing that is utterly rigid in execution is the defensive structure.

So in an ' exit ' , ' safety ' , ' break out from line ' set what specific instructions do you give to your half backs/full back/hooker and loose forward?

Some I wrote (one each year for my team) and others from club coaches coaching the other teams in the club. Instructions to each and every player vary in each set. Why do you ask?
