| Congratulations on reaching 5th place Leigh fans. Still not in a middle 8 qualifying position though.
They will be brought back down to ground next week when they meet the mighty Toronto Wolfpack.

| Is it me, or there is more interest in the Middle 8's rather than the Top 4?

Yeah this is Rugby League not much changes at the top, you can pretty much predict the top four before the season starts.

Unless your team is involved in the battle for the top, the middle 8's is far more interesting.
There is more jeopardy in the promotion / relegation battle and the MPG is akin to ambulance chasing.
You know that someone will get hurt but, you cant help wanting to watch.
Saints already look assured of a semi final spot, probably with Wigan and Warrington and it all comes down to who will finish 4th.
Cas, despite their injuries look a decent bet but it does look more and more like 4th will be between FC and Cas.
The bottom is far more interesting and it's going to be 4 from the current bottom 6 with both Salford and Wakeifeld now looking over their shoulders.
Widnes & KR look like they've got 11th & 12th sorted but 9th & 10th are going to be mighty interesting and then come the Championship pretenders.
Toronto will be going for it but, of the others, only Leigh look capable of mounting a serious challenge, assuming that they dont slip up along the way.
MPG will be Toronto vs KR ??

Widnes down, Toronto up. Rest to remain the same.

alas, not true. 50,000 TV viewers and 6,888 in attendance is hardly evidence of it being a draw-card event.
If I were a betting man I'd have Toronto & Leigh already up and the MPG being a relegation battle between 2 current SL sides.

There’s lots of interest because Toronto and Toulouse both have the potential to compete with Super League sides and possibly gain promotion. Expanding the game in France and Canada would be fantastic for the sport of Rugby League.

I relly cant see 2 Championship clubs coming into SL.
Everyone in the Middle 8's will be looking to "tweak" their squads and Toronto seem most likely to spend all they can to try and gain promotion. Therefore, it's just a matter of which SL side swaps places with them.

Not sure why so many people have decided that Wire are shoo-ins for the top 4 already.
The table and fixtures are far more favourable towards Cas who still have Hull KR x2, Widnes, Hudds, Catalans, Salford to play.
Win our 2 games in hand and the table looks alot different.
Having said that I still think wire will comfortably finish in the 4 after all said and done.

Not really - the people who say Sts, Wigan and Wire will be the top 3 with Cas, Hull and Leeds fighting for 1 spot are who I'm referring to.
Cas are in a far better position than Wire at the moment IMO.

Disagree. Wire were on a 10 game winning streak playing some sublime stuff with minimal injuries. Every time we've faced a top 4 side so far this year we've lost (apart from a jet lagged hull side). We still face up to no Gale until August at best. I would be delighted with 4th place and a first choice 17 come September time. Then it might be interesting. The top 3 are a shoe in and a battle probably between hull Cas and Leeds for 4th.

Leeds will be nowhere near the top 4.
They will do well to stay clear of the bottom 4 with all the key injuries they have.
That said, I think they still have enough to finish 6th/7th.
Top 4 for me will be Saints, Wigan, Cas and that 4th position will be out of Wire and FC, probably Wire as FC arent too good on the injury front at the moment either so will do well to pick up points over the next 4/5 weeks.
