Probably in the same place where those who claimed Tomkins had a wonderful game last week are.
What a pointless post. But then I suppose that is a general theme of yours that you like to follow.

| Sporting Life:
SAM TOMKINS: Uncharacteristically dodgy under the high ball and unable to get into the attack. 5.
RYAN HALL: Early moment of madness when he threw the ball into touch but took his tryscoring opportunity well. 6.
JACK REED: Superb throughout in defence, including an early try-saving tackle on Uate. 7.
KIRK YEAMAN: Early missed tackle on Thaiday but made up for it with a series of crucial challenges. 6.
TOM BRISCOE: Ran the ball strongly out of defence but came up with a knock-on at a crucial stage. 5.
KEVIN SINFIELD: Worked non-stop but unable to repeat his heroics from earlier in the tournament. 6.
RANGI CHASE: Never in the game and withdrawn well before the end. 5.
JAMES GRAHAM: Typically forceful performance on his final game in England. 7.
JAMES ROBY: England's best by a country mile in the first half and unable to stem the tide after the break. 7.
JAMIE PEACOCK: His sterling first-half efforts did much to keep England in the game. 7.
JON WILKIN: Tireless in defence and tried to vary England's attack but to little avail. 6.
GARETH ELLIS: Workmanlike performance on his return from injury. 6.
BEN WESTWOOD: Failed to reach the heights of his performance against the Kiwis. 5.
REPLACEMENTS
GARETH WIDDOP: Went on for the last quarter but the game was slipping away from England by then. 5.
ADRIAN MORLEY: Held his own on his record-breaking 50th appearance with some powerful hit-ups. 6.
JAMIE JONES-BUCHANAN: Big impact from the bench, his half-break set up the position for England's first-half try. 7.
GARRETH CARVELL: Couple of useful stints which gave the starting props a breather. 5.
Wouldn't disagree with much of that.

Chase isn't given any responsibility in attack, so it must be hard for him to impose himself.

| 1. Tomkins - anonymous, poor on taking the high ball - 5
2. Hall - tried hard, did as much as a winger could be expected to do to try and change the game - 8
3. Reed - Didnt really notice him - 7
4. Yeaman - poor, him and Briscoe didnt seem switched on at all - 4
5. Briscoe - same as Yeaman - 4
6. Sinfield - tried hard, good pass for Hall's try, not expansive enough though and kicking not great - 6
7. Chase - always tries hard, I like his aggression in defence, but simply didn't do enough - 5.5
8. Graham - worked his balls off, can hold his head high - 8
9. Roby - worked hard, some good runs from DH, but occasionally too slow distribution hampering 5th tackle kicks - 7.5
10. Peacock - tried hard, but that knock to his knee is obviously hampering him, good in first half, not very effective in 2nd - 6.5
11. Wilkin - solid, tries to do something different but not much happening - 6
12. Ellis - works hard as always but was expecting more from him - 6
13. Westwood - disappointing after last week. Got a big knock early on which seemed to affect him - 5.5
14. Widdop - did ok, but enough time really - 5.5
15. Morley - One of our better forwards, strong runs and strong defence - 7
16. Jones-Buchanan - Did well I thought, adds some speed and dynamism to the back row - 7
17. Carvell - The odd decent run but nothing that noteworthy - 5.5

| Quote: Saddened! "So Kevin Sinfield. Where are all those who denied that he was terrible last week?
He isn't good enough at 6 at international level. Pure and simple. For all the solidity his organisational qualities bring, he is the reason we didn't push them closer tonight.
Score at 8-8 with nearly an hour played and we are on the Australian 10m line with a full set. Sinfield steps up as ever and pops two of his trademark short lateral passes that are around the ears of the runners. All the pressure gone and so were our chances. He did it again the next time we were in that position and it characterises the 4Nations for England. The pack has laid a decent enough platform but we've not been able to apply any pressure at all when it mattered.
He was dreadful today.'"
I'm one of them and I'm here. Sinfield had a very average final by his own high standards (as in my opinion did many England players)
Last week, however, he had a hand in 20 out of England's 28 points and there are still know-nowts on hear claiming he was terrible.
In the final, despite his below par showing, he had a hand in all England's points.
Tomorrow Sinfield will still be a great player and you will still be tragically blinkered.

| Graham, Hall, Roby and JJB (in that order) get my top ratings. None of the others performed as well as I'd hoped.

| It was more the video ref than Hall, and rightly so.

Ellis was poor actually, fell off tackles and did little in attack except drop that pass from Reed when he should have scored.

| Got to disagree with most peoples low score on Westwood. He is one of the most under rated players in the squad, he doesn't stand out as a household name or get the crowd shouting his name but that guy tackles everything that moves and consistently does 4 5 and 6 tackles a set that most un notice. His hit on Thurston towards the end of the match shold have given him at least an 8
