It would stop our better players potentially being lost to the sport by moving to the NRL as opposed as to Union.

I agree, while the inevitable loss of some of Englands best players isnt good for super league, it is far better that they are lost to the NRL than to Union. Rugby league being successful anywhere in the world has to be a good thing. Perhaps it will be a catalyst for the growth of international rugby league in England, with possibly the majority of the England team playing in the NRL, people should be far more attracted to going to watch internationals with it being their only opportunity to watch the best English players play.

Hate to widdle on anyones cornflakes, but IF the NRL gets the same level of increase in TV deal that the AFL did, then $795,000,000 will be the deal. That would be 2 million a club less per year than the "article" says.
The PR/Spin exercise by the NRL is sometimes embarrasing. I reckon that some of these guys believe if they keep saying 1 billion dollars then that's what they will get.
would that be the Puletua thats just signed a 2 year deal at ST HELENS?

Puletua signs 2 year deal. Bit gutted to be honest as a Wire fan, decent player.

Quote: Starbug "It should mean a massive reduction , but as you said it won't , as for the Salary cap or the inability of clubs to build themselves , that's the way it is , nothing will change , in 10 years Quins will still be struggling to draw more than 3,000 if they are still around , Crusaders will be gone , Huddersfield and Salford will still be getting a lot less than the required 10,000 , and Bradford will still be giving away season tickets for 70 quid and playing out of Odsall'"

Yeah, because not a lot has changed in the last 10 years for us to think anything could change in the next 10 years has it... icon_rolleyes.gif

We could always apply for English franchises in the NRL and reap the rewards of their increased salary cap icon_wink.gif

kcab sfrawdder Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done But he with a chuckle replied That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried. So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg

So apart from getting a new stadium , what has changed for you ? , and apart from getting a new stadium , what will change for any of the others ?

Will Salford be pulling in 12,000 ? , will Hudderfield ? , Quins ? , if they still exist ?

If you think it will be drastically different , pray tell us

How long has flannery played in the halves or at full back?

And puletua just signed a new contract

You've signed two imports to replace two british players and you have the audasity to moan at wigan and HKR?

wigan infact have sam tomkins, joel tomkins, darrell goulding, michael mcillorum, chris tuson, liam farrell, sean o'loughlin, josh charnley, stefan marsh, harrison hansen all in the first team regularly and all who have came through the wigan system. Thats without including the likes of deacon whoose a wigan lad and fielden whoose british in the side regularly.

But hey, let's not get facts get in the way of your incorrect opinion shall we?

Apart from a stadium? Hmm...
Better quality academy, more than double crowds, running at a profit, on average far more competitive than the previous 10 years, better profile in the city.

Huddersfield are pretty much the same (apart from profit and new stadium). They're getting more than double the crowds, have a much better academy, are far far more competitive, are producing far better players and have a far better profile in and around Huddersfield.

Quins will never grow as Quins, and are still making the same mistakes unfortunately.

Salford, who knows what the new stadium could bring.

Look at Warrington. Hull KR. Widnes will grow. Wigan. Catalans and RL in France in general.

But no, it'll all be the same in 10 years.

There appear to be a fair few people that cannot see the factual inaccuracies of their arguments due to the massive chips on their shoulders!
