He has a point though. Without most (but not all) of your Overseas players you looked very ordinary indeed even when playing against a CC side. It was your full-time SL british players + Nero against our part-time Championship british lads and you got beaten by a better team on the day. Admittedly it was only a one point loss (but was still 3 tries to 2 in Leigh's favour).
Possibly a one-off, possibly not but it points to an over reliance on your many overseas players.

You go on like your team was picked off the streets and dragged out of the pub on the day of the game, it’s a fact that all of Leigh’s team bar a few young lads and one or two lifers have played Super league before.
You beat us last night on the fact that you targeted our young guys. Godwin Wild and Nero did what they could but they can't carry a whole team, out of the 7 that were missing 4 were forwards had they been on the field it would of been completely different instead of our young forwards being dominated it would of been yours. |

Do you really hold any credence to Christmas pre-season friendlies? If so, why? That's a question to all protagonists on this thread. Do you think the result or even the quality of play was a benchmark for 2011? Season 2011 starts in two months. |

No not really just trying to get these leythers heads out of their own s believing there going to walk the championship off this result? at the end of the day Halifax are champions so their currently favs, well thats how i see it? |

'Extreme bitterness'?  My my, these Salford fans really do seem riled.
Trust me, Salford could win Super League, the World Cup, Wimbledon, and the Eurovision Song Contest and I would not lose a moments sleep about it. They are as significant as Luton Town as far as I am concerned.
However, if it's touched a raw nerve then I apologise. The season of goodwill and all that.
I'm sure all is well within the Salford squad and its million pound plus budget, that yesterday was a one off, half the first team and the fringe players are actually much much better than our roofers, plasterers, and joiners, but just chose not to bother showing it, and you'll be able to aim for a top 12 finish again once your imports arrive.

Not all of them, Adam Clay was making his debut for the 1st team having been in the 18's and reserves last year. And young Gareth Owen only played last year because of injuries to Malcolm Alker, Stefan Ratchford and Daniel Holdsworth. If they hadn't been injured he wouldn't have even had a squad number, let alone played. |

This is RL , players get injured on a fairly regular basis , you would expect 4/5 players injured at any given time , so if he is a squad player he is a 1 st team player
You will have a better team with your overseas players yes , but there was a lot of SL experience out there on monday , we are happy with our performance , if you are happy with yours , no problem |
