Quote: Eurob0y "A few years ago, Hull won the CC and then made the grand final the next year. It looked like they were going to make the big 2, a big 3. But then they appointed a clueless manager and they have gone backwards at an alarming rate, a bit like Bradford, who like Hull, went with sentiment in appointing some random ex player, rather than a coach who knew what he was doing.'"

Hull are nothing like bradford. They play in the best stadium in SL, have the 2nd highest attendances in SL and opeate at a profit. What they currently have is a poor coach and an average squad. We just need to appoint a decent coach, sign 5 or 6 decent players and we'll be there or thereabouts. bradfords problems run much deeper

I sense deep insecurity in your post. At no point did I compare Hull to Bradford as a club. I was merely pointing out the similarity in their head coach appointment.

Just like a previous Rovers poster said, not to turn this in an FC v KR thread, Wigans stadium is the best imo, but on derby day the KC is better.

Not in the slightest. I'm not insecure about Hull at all. We're shiite on the field at present but due to the salary cap and quota rules, decent recruitment can see any club rise from the bottom of the table to the top. look at hudds and hull kr. If we were losing money then I'd be worried but we've posted profits for several years now and are reducing our debt significantly

You're entitled to your opinion, many will disagree. And how can the KC be better on one day of the year? Do the dobbins fans bring some bricks and build an extension for the day?

Now i am as red and white as the next fan but there is no way on gods green earth the JJB is anywhere near as good a stadium as the KC in any way shape or form!!
I have never for the biggest attended regular super league match had to stand out in the ing rain with three minutes to go with only a 13,00 crowd!!

i would however love to see the single file 2 beers each approach as per the JJB as the KC is a nightmare for getting served drinks and food.

As for the decline of Hull FC there is no such thing, Its a poor board and that alone that is making them a laughing stock across the river and apparently to the rest of RL (Seeing as the poster is not from Hull)

Last week they banned the local rag for pointing out the truth
The week before it was the Local Station for the same
The week before the Crocker thing
and the week before not only did they lose the derby but the whole Reardon thing given the situation at the time was a joke.
They dont speak to the fans and ban the local press for outing them as the shameful money grabbers they are.
They decided in their wisdom to sign Thorman over Dobson, let Briscoe go to keep Tony, Allow Carvel to Walk as Crocker was coming, not to make sure that their prize assett in Paul Cooke was actually contractually signed and then play yet another un registered player only a few months later for not 1 but 2 of the CC Rounds in which they got to the final when haf their fans wanted them pulling from the comp.

If the fans are disolusioned by the board imagine what the players are going through having to work with these imbosiles on a daily basis?

Like i said Earlier its not the Fans or the name of te club but from the outside looking in its the greedy Board!!

Just purly based on an atmosphere thing. I think the set up is good at Wigan, shops around the stadium and the car park for example. What I also like is how steep the stands are, you feel alot closer to the action and how you can see the game so clearly.

Lastly, Hull need to stop giving out contract extentions just for the sake of it, it seems. Players such as Graeme Horne should never be a starting centre for a top 8 side and should only be a sqaud/ back up player. .'"

I have always got the impression that G.Horne has been a makeweight to keep R.Horne happy.

WEST COAST PIRATES NRL expansion? Sometime soon, maybe......:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_9857.jpg

+'ves: Great stadium, great fan base, financially secure

-'ves: poor coach, poor board, ltd squad and poor decisions/forward planning for signings.

How a club as big as Hull haven't been able to attract a world class signing (Crocker aside as he never got there but not really the fault of the club) is beyond me. Losing Cooke and not signing 2 or 3 international standard players a few seasons ago has cost them the chance to kick on and become a powerhouse of the game.

Now we just have a little giggle icon_lol.gif

"What we do in life, echoes in eternity!":

I honestly believe that had Hull FC had the squad they planned to have, they would have been top of the table. There was no way they could have envisaged a problem with visa approvals. At the time it hadn't happened.

Crocker would have enforced the back row just as Berrigan, Cusack and Dowes form a formidable front row.

I think Thorman was a poor signing that Jon Sharp clearly instigated, i have no idea what he offers. He's too inconsistent.

An overhaul isn't needed, but they do need quality signings. Horne should stay at Full-Back and they can focus on bringing two quality halves to the club. Lose Motu Tony and cut your losses. Fitzgibbon is a good signing, yes he's ageing but he's proven he's still one of the best back rowers in the NRL. A goal kicker too, may end up taking over from the inconsistent Tickle.

Radford, Fitzgibbon and Washbrook with Tickle coming off the bench is a very good back row.

Replace him with Manu. Hopefully this will be Radford's last season, he offers nothing.

Not for me it isn't, even add Manu to that list and it still isn't that impressive.

Waiting for the 2021 RLWC:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_18764.gif

Tickle seems to me to be a pretty consistent kicker. At 32/33, I'm not sure that Fitzgibbon will bring much extra.
