| Quote: Pats plastic pitch "Same here, it’s a real fear. All backroom staff gone, Tangata has just confirmed he’s been released. Quit his part time job and Halifax role to go to Widnes. Currently injured and can’t get a new club. There’s still no money. All season ticket money has gone. Parachute payment has gone. It’s bad.
Inu and wellington Albert are rumoured to be leaving.
Sam Walter has signed for Leeds. England academy prospect, very good player.'"
Tangata'a had quite a pop at James Rule on twitter i believe.
All the best to widnes hope it works out

| Inu has also confirmed on twitter that he's gone.
Have they just released the injured players or something? Ruthless.

Looking that way which is shocking, both now free agents with no job.
No words really
Apparently Gelling is staying which is a boost and a mystery given what’s been happening financially.

By the way, is there any wriggle room to get the deduction reduced? Main thing is that Widnes can look to taking the field again, and hopefully, the town will get behind them no matter what's on the scoreboard.'"
Only if you take on and pay off the debts (fairly quickly) I think and from the limited stuff out there at the moment it doesn't look as though they'll be doing that.

There are rumours that he's paid directly by a sponsor, which might lead people to wonder about salary cap rules and regulations.

As long as they declare it it’s fine. It would count on the cap. For instance some players at Leeds get either free or heavily discounted use or leasing of cars from one of the sponsors but it’s declared and the value of it counted on the cap.

I wouldn't worry too much about the SC, take a look at TWP.

| I will confess to being a little confused here, this is why and if I have it wrong please correct me.
Takeover is with a NEWCO, so ALL contracts become null and void - so any player can leave FOC
NEWCO has to absorb no season ticket money and no central funding - that will need huge cash
Administrator will need paying and a deal done with the creditors to get this over the line - ie a %/£ paid?
I truly wish all Widnes fans the very best in these uncertain times, like us its not the first time things have been tough and its certainly not nice to liove through

| Like all true fans of the sport I wish Widnes and all it's fans the very best moving forward. I have to say I'm wary of people coming in with not much money. Bradford have had two or three owners with the collective wealth equal to the change down the back of my settee foisted on them by the RFL. Then when we inevitably went pop AGAIN they act surprised. I hope the new Widnes ownership is legit and sustainable.

It's definitely legit and they're all local/Widnes fans so will have the club at heart. Whether they have the funds to keep things moving forward im not sure. Hopefully a packed house against Fev on Sunday, the town have really rallied behind the team these last 2 weeks, amazing to see. Thanks for all the well wishes

You must be doing something right, you've got Mel C wishing you well. When we get into trouble we have Laurel's dad from Emmerdale looking sad on Calendar.

She was born in Widnes. I'm glad we can move forward but the whole scenario just stinks. I could understand if we were spending to the cap and using the full Sky money (£1.8million). But we knew this wasn't the case, we finished bottom of the league the past 2 seasons with a mediocre at best squad and reports had our salary cap in and around the £1million mark. So you think, well at least the other money is going to the council for the stadium rent or paying off additional Debt. Only when we went into administration we found out that none of the debts had been paid and we owed around £800,000. Add ticket money and merchandise and even Widnes must have been receiving around £2.5million a year. Where the hell it all went, we all kind of know but it's destroyed the club and the great work we've done with our youth system. Hopefully that can re-establish itself soon enough
