They haven't though. Hall has probably been England's most consistent player along with Graham and Burgess over the last decade, and Watkins was outstanding in the last world cup. If both have good seasons and stay injury free then they'll be back in the squad next season, as will Widdop, Burgess and Roby.

| Thought our pack laid the foundation they just wouldn't lie down when the going got tough especially in the last 15 mins of each half, were we usually lose bit of composure it was the Kiwis who were found wanting in that department.
Makinson, Whitehead and Hodgson were my top 3 closely followed by Connor, Thompson and Williams. Gildart was our weakest player but I think the Kiwis put a lot more pressure on him.
Might have been a disappointing crowd but we made a lot of noise and the England team responded well to keep there heads up when the going got tough. For once we seem to have strength in depth in most positions so everyone is going to be competitive to keep that England shirt.

Lets stop talking us down as those two tests have reminded me that we really do have the best product (I'd just watched eng v sa and been impressed with their sell out and atmosphere...but by god the action was cack). Imagine our game at full throttle being 'consistenly' played in front of packed houses...it would be untouchable.'"
The sooner they let the Hearns have a crack at promoting some games the better, we have the superior product but by far the weaker marketing.
The RFL need to ask why 14k less people were there today than Australia - NZ at the same ground just 2 years ago, I know that was a final, but England playing should have made it a much easier sell. Its was the same story at the Olympic Stadium, an initial good crowd is then followed up by a big drop.
Luckily Leeds already had the best sales of the 3 games, so next Sunday's crowd should still be good despite it now being dead rubber.

Indeed. Makinson has been superb.
Whether it's the thought of Johnstone taking his sope or just superb wing play, I dont know but you have to say, well played really well played, clear MoN today but, I thought Connor did exceptionally well today. Never had much ball but, his tough was superb.

Defensively Connor was shown up a coupe of times but his mongrel and ability to get his winger in attack was excellent. They need lots of game time together now to develop a good wing centre partnership

Those Wakefield fans praying for Makinson to have a nightmare and New Zealand to win will be disappointed. I wonder if they still think Wayne Bennett is clueless for selecting Makinson ahead of Johnstone.

Give over, he didn’t even ground the ball for the winning try. Tom would have finished it off under the posts.

Well done you, of all the posts posted about selection on the Trinity forum you've found one saying he hopes he has a mare and basically one other that rates one over the other.
You'd also think with how some people are going on, that a very small number of Wakefield fans are somehow trendsetters being the first few fans that think their player deserved selection over someone else, no really you're onto something mate, it's never happened before.

Connor, even though he's still finding his feet at this level & at , so far always seems to do something eye-catching in every game he plays. He really does have something about him.

Well it’ll be interesting to see what position Connor plays regularly over the next few years. Might end up more at HB than centre.

| Conor was brilliant today.
He must be an absolute nightmare to play against - can't wait to see him when we play Oz whenever that will be, he's win us more penalties than anybody since Ryan Bailey. Pantomime villain but would love him at Trinity.

Likely to remain at Centre for Hull, as he doesn't play well in the halves alongside Albert Kelly and we also have Sneyd, and Sneyd and Kelly don't play anywhere else.
Special talent though, he has a cheek and flair to his game that can't be coached.

The Hearns are not the answer.
rlhttps://www.matchroomsport.com/rl
Boxing, Darts, Pool and Snooker......they claim on their website to sell over 500,000 tickets annually......that's not a lot given Anthony Joshua has delivered 160,000 of those alone in 2018 and I could sell a Joshua fight to the British Public from a computer in NZ......
They are pushing Basketball and Fast-Five Netball, which AFAIK are their only team sports......so you I'd give them a stand alone event like 'summer bash' before I'd let them near anything else.
Everything they promote they have a description of how many TV hours are available.......the fact that Rimmer is talking to them should scare the crap out of the fans, because if you think SKY treat us badly.........these guys will have games played 7 days a week if it means they can sell the content on.
In terms of getting 3rd parties to sell our games, we did that with great success in 2013. The Semi-Final Double Header was attended by 67,500 people in London. Capacity Consulting, run by Mark Evans, ex CEO of Harlequins RU and the Melbourne Storm and now looking after the Cornwall Stadium project, were the company responsible for that gate......a gate which I still believe is the largest ever for an international featuring England and only beaten by 1 GB crowd, also in London as well as 2 GB games in Sydney.......his company and his background of growing gates at Quins RU and the Storm make him an ideal partner......proven track record and he'd work with stakeholders.
The Hearns work for the Hearns!
