I agree the missing players have let us down, but Austrailia have not been all that. We have done some really daft things.

Tomkins should stop complained to the ref most of the time about any infraction he thinks should go englands way.

I think we've seen today we can't win the WC now. Australia are very rusty and still putting us away pretty easily. This is their warm up match. In 5 weeks time they'll be a completely different team and running fluently.

I don't concur at all, we have been dire at times with our decisions. That's something we can change. Physically and skill wise we have been more than a match for them.
There are a few I would drop, but all in all, it's been stuff like not chasing the ball and putting feet in touch. Lying on in the tackle etc.

jesus christ i agree with bewareshadows going for a nap... Great opening game just needed to be more clever. hopefully o'loughlin fit as burgess will miss the next game. |

If you think Australia's defence will be that awful at the back end of the tournament and their attacking fluency that bad you can't have been watching Rugby League long. England haven't got much more to give - they tagetted this game and whilst they were positive and went for the win they came up quite a way short. Too many mistakes and just didn't hold onto the ball. They need to play positively in bursts and be much more patient and controlled nost of the time. When Australia link better to their back line they'll be a different proposition. |
