Sorry but thats utter tripe. If they didn't want to give it to an Aussie in his first year, then why did Lyon win it in his first year? Lyon did rip SL apart, Barrett was very good but he never ripped SL apart like you say.
Im not saying Roby was the better player but he had the bigger impact on the SL season. Barrett was great for a team that finished 6th, well below expectations wheras Roby had a big influence on the team that finished top. |

All the players? You mean Barrett said that because he lost out to Roby 
As for the bit about an aussie tearing SL apart, Barrett did nothing of the sort. Jamie Lyon did and hence why he won the man of steel. |

He (Barrett)might have torn the super league competition apart according to you.But he didnt tear the challenge cup competition apart in a certain semi final against Catalans.Roby did it in ALL matches.

James Roby is on fire. If he carries on playing like he has been until the end of the season, even the goal kicker, Pat Richards wont come anywhere close to him in the man of steel stakes.

He's played every position on the field except FB and prop, and hes done it to a very good standard. He has worked hard on his game to adapt to the different pace than it was a couple of years ago.

He hs become an all-round wonderful player, no longer just a scooter from dummy half. He's played on the wing, at Centre, Stand Off, Scrum Half, Hooker, Back row and Loose forward this year. He has been absolutely incredible. Look at his stats, he is high in alot of categories and his influence on the team has become huge. If you took Graham and Roby out of the Saints team we'd really struggle.
