Agreed, I've no issue whatsoever with that call, I have more issue with the ball not getting to BJB when he would have likely have scored rather than the ball getting passed to McGuire who sadly hasn't got his pace anymore.

So as long as you've attained the status of 'pantomime villain' dirty play isn't dirty play? Just harmless slapstick?

Where did I say that, if Bailey does an act of 'thuggery' I will call it as such, and yes he has had his moments in his career, as for the game on Saturday the only thing of note he did was run into a scuffle and roll on the floor with Bateman for 30 seconds.

The two bits of play that I really don't think has a place in our game happened to come from Wigan, the dangerous throw and the cowardly hit in the back were IMO way over the line and I suspect at least one of them will see a ban for their actions. The Mcllorum incident was sheer stupidity on his part but not IMO thuggery, the yellow was the right call. Leeds having Bailey in the team does not negate foul play from the opposition.

Does McGuire's boot into George Williams have a place in the game then?

Listen to yourself, it's just biased whinging and drone. Moderators do him a favour and lock it.

'when my life is over, the thing which will have given me greatest pride is that I was first to plunge into the sea, swimming freely underwater without any connection to the terrestrial world' Yves Le Prieur, the real inventor of the aqualung:

Having no axe to grind with either Wigan or Leeds I will say that apart from our win against FC this game was the best for me, I thought Wigan were brilliant in the way they came up with the plan to beat Leeds, they started off as the meant to go on, hard, Physical and in their faces. Plus for us old schoolers, there was a nice bit of mindless violence to keep the intensity up.

Great game, loved every second of it.

Stop trying to get threads locked when you don't agree with whats written, its embarrassing and childish.

I've posted my thoughts on the McGuire kicking out incident in a previous post, go back and read it if you like, and if you could point out where I have 'whinged' that would be nice.

Rugby League would be pretty dull without 'pantomime villians', 'thugs' - call 'em what you will.

As much as opposition villians wind you up, a game consisting of only safe, cuddly, textbook tackling would be boring as hell. So while we'll all complain about niggle & cheap shots when our own team is on the end of them, I actually embrace them while they still exist.

Except Les Boyd. He was the exception. icon_smile.gif

No, I don't want to go back to any of your posts. I don't want a conversation. It's just hard work seeing your boring bias droning.

I don't really post on RLFANS anymore but would like you to shut up for a bit so I can read other people's opinions.

Cheers.

Let all the doubters keep doubting and those who believe keep believing. We’re only interested in those in the bubble. Anyone who wants to come in the bubble, you can come in. But you’ve got to keep believing.:86.jpg

People within the game, including officials, openly discuss the ongoing issues with Wigan's tactics so why are Wigan fans reluctant to accept an airing of them on here? FWIW I suspect matters won't come to a head until there is a career-ending scenario.

This thread "Dirty Wigan" was started by a Leeds fan minutes after the end of the game in which Leeds lost.
Why wasn't started two weeks ago when the two teams met and Wigan lost?
Perhaps due to that fact, Wigan lost!
Both team then played with the same tactics, different result as Leeds tactics meant the Wigan players were overpowered in the physical game that it was.
The same physical game was played last Saturday just that Wigan upped their game to match Leeds, then Leeds lost!
The replies by neutral fans are the best, really good!

Because it's based on the implication that Wigan are the only team to play it tough. I watch most televised games and a lot of NRL too. In every game there are elbows, knees, general 'roughing up'. Dirty tactics. Call them what you will but it happens in EVERY game. It happened when I played at school. It's part of the game whether supporters like it or not.

If opposition fans choose only to see it when a Wigan player does it to suit their own agenda then there is not a lot can be said but you can't blame Wigan fans getting a bit riled by it.

Again this is just childish, its probably good that you don't post very often because if you don't like reading or discussing things that you don't agree with I suspect an internet forum isn't for you. If you aren't prepared to discuss things like an adult then theres no point in being here. and if you can't be bothered reading what I've put then whats the point?.

You may want me to 'shut up' but that's just because you don't agree with me which is in my opinion pathetic, and if its such hard work you should use the ignore function rather than moaning.

its probably more down to the fact that it was a different game and one where no one got sin binned for foul play and causing a fight. FWIW I personally don't think the OP is a fair one and over the top, I don't think Wigan are particularly anymore a dirty side than the rest, although there were a couple of incidents in this game where I thought they were a touch shall we say 'grubby' and thats what Im trying to discuss.
