| Quote: Cokey "If the Mods can't see it in the first place to act, then you end up being a whinger. I used to say that Jean Cappy (now The Silent H) was a Mod in disguise because post were regularly removed when he didn't like them.,this seems to be the case again.'"
Yeh, I know the Faux Frenchman is now "silent" However he isn't out and out abusive.
But if I did get the better of him this "Steph Curry" seemed to appear to pile on the abuse, like she/he is his minder .

R. Elstone appears to be smoothing the way towards T.W being a SL Club for 2021 though ?

Yes, I'm fully aware that TW are gone. For me tho, all the championship clubs who are able to play, and justify themselves for a place in SL should be part of a playoff comp.

If that happens Ste, why should we bother anymore? The phoney club has shattered our game and should be rid of.

Ooooh I see your point mate, but I don't agree one teensy little bit.
I think Elstone prefers the story where TWP sadly ran out of money so they can have another go from the Championship next year....
As opposed the the game let in a bunch of Phonies even Superleague pathetically fell for in the end............
Nobody wants to admit they were taken for a ride but the RFL certainly were, then the SL fell for it.
Once Melbourne storm's owner decided to widen the ownership of the Storm, Argylle was straight out of the door to seek to take the opportunity he had always dreamed of and sought.
Bottom line is multi-$Billionaires do not run out of money

| Quote: Ornery Optimist "Donnyman,
On one of the other threads you created about overseas clubs you mentioned the French club failed to bring youngsters through.Your now favourite journalist, because he reported information about Toronto Wolfpack, now reports - '' Catalans Dragons academy products Corentin Le Cam, Mathieu Cozza, Joe Chan and Mathieu Laguerre, who were playing this season with the club’s reserve team, have all signed a new two-and-a-half year contract with the club until the end of the 2022 season.''
Give Ottawa time. They are just about to start...'"
Well let's be honest about this, most aspiring English clubs have plenty of [i"junior products"[/i who then sign a playing deal where they can eventually step up to the lower Echelons of the 30 man first team squad. Many are given a chance and in time don't make it or drop to lower divisions. We need clubs where young players are in such an abundance that the one quality talent in 50 can come through, to be steadily followed by more quality talent, from more hundreds of wannabees.
To have such a system SL clubs put scores of good young prospects through their local junior game via the foundation, then academy and then reserve teams.
Ottawa are not "about to start" in this respect. Eric Perez stared way back in 2010 taking the reigns at Canada RL, so he's had a ten years start in Canadian rugby League, to get players developed through grass roots systems. He started 10 years ago and hasn't developed a single young Canadian
Time has shown his abject failure.....

| I think we should wait till next year before making any predictions about overseas teams. This Covid-19 virus isn't showing any signs of going away any time soon. Hopefully in 6 months time, we will have some kind of normality, but I somehow doubt it.

I do not appreciate being accused of having multiple accounts.
Don't categorize me with the other two.

| Quote: The Silent H "Perez's record is pretty good. Built one club from scratch and another next year in foreign lands all in 5 years.'"
Agreed: It was never going to be perfect. Our game has never been perfect. Anyone who builds a club from scratch and gets quick success is always going hit some obstacle that then have to be broken down, steadily. Planning are flexibility is key. The energy, money and time required is difficult to sustain as you cannot keep all of the people, happy all of the time. Too many sidelines screamers. You heard them, you've tried to ignore, them, you know who they are. They are the ones that never made a tackle, started or ran a club, or took the whistle to ensure players can 'play our wonderful game, but alway they know the rules better than the ref.
Sometimes quick success is a chain around one's neck as fickle people want it to continue EVERY year, thereafter. It cannot be done smoothly. There must always be a ten year plan, that is updated each year, (so ALWAYS a next ten year plan), because you will hit peaks and troughs.
TWP may or may not succeed in SL with the COVID chaos that is affecting every single company on the globe, but wow what a great job they have done thus far.

Given the Covid wasn't the reason at all for TWP's collapse, it was Argylle pulling out, I think we should wait until Ottawa declare a real owner who has real money to burn, and wait until we see if the 2022 SKY deal suddenly changes from what SL bosses said it will be which wasn't NA expansion before, NOT writing them off as a possible future professional SL club

| Genuine question for fans of Leigh and current championship clubs.
Genuine consensus on these threads is that Toronto should be dropped a division or two. If this were to occur, they would probably favorites for promotion at next years end. This would create a problem for ambitious champ clubs who would have their promotion chances greatly reduced.
What would you prefer? Toronto to stay in super league or drop to championship but therefore reducing your clubs chances of success?
