You mean like Union gets Maximuscle League gets Big Soup, Union get Bollinger while League gets Irn Bru.

Union gets Maximuscle League gets Optimum Nutrition, although Maximuscle used to be a League partner and remain partners with many League clubs.

Do you think there might be any reason for that?

| Super League is a brand in itself, everyone calls it that. Anyway, I'd refer them to have three minor sponsors, and have full sponsor for the Challenge Cup and if possible the Championships.

Maybe we should go for quantity minors.....Barbour, Tilley, Stetson + Ted Baker they all promote and sell flat caps.

We could start a team in London? I hear there's people queueing up to support a team in London.

86.jpg Let all the doubters keep doubting and those who believe keep believing.
We’re only interested in those in the bubble. Anyone who wants to come in the bubble, you can come in.
But you’ve got to keep believing.:86.jpg |

Super League in general conversation doesn't.

Make no mistake the away drunks that turn up at the Stoop doesn't help nor does the northern "flat cap" perception of the sport.
At the moment the game is what it is. If it wants to move to the next level then it requires a significant re brand.

I believe that Engage paid 1.2 million a year to sponsor Superleague......I also believe that a sick puppy of a Union side in Saracens have managed to wrangle a 1.5 million a year deal...I doubt the RFU or the owners of Sarries give a flying what anyone calls their competition or clubs.....just so long as they continue to count the cash.
Foxy Bingo are the bingo partner of SL....the naming rights sponsor has yet to be announced and I suspect that whomever it is, will have paid more than Stobbarts did in 2012......and as sure as night follows day, most on here will have an opinion as to their suitability!

I know - I've got one from the latter and rather natty it is too.
The fact remains - RU and RL are spectated by completely different socio-economic groups, so the Bollinger SL isn't likely to happen in our lifetimes; some might argue that it never should, given that many of the things that people value about RL is derived from its northern, working class beginnings.
The constant comparisons between RU and RL sponsorship and income levels are tiresome and pointless.

| Whether its Bollinger or Blue Nun, its pretty irrelevant. Its what they pay that matters.
If premium brands were the aim, then the Champions League would be sponsored by Bentley and not Ford, Crystal and not Heineken, and Coutts & Co rather than Mastercard and Unicredit.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

So once again, I'll ask YOU to tell us what they should do ?
You seem really good at pointing out that our ' regionalism ' is the problem ( no 5hit Sherlock ) but you dont seem to have an alternative strategy
' Re brand ' as what?

I expect it does, given that the terraces are hardly packed with the affluent London types who will presumably replace us in your ever so carefully thought out new world order?
This can be an interesting discussion, with some thought-provoking contributions from intelligent, well-informed posters; then there's you.
