Wigan have confirmed that Option 2 won the vote and will be the 2017 home kit.

Wigan 2017 home shirt as voted for by the fans. Probably fair to say the best of a bad bunch.

I know some clubs are going retro, but this looks like a cheap school PE kit from the 1980's.

Ours (Wigan's) is absolute garbage. Looks like something a 10yr old designed and that's being generous. Haven't bought any merch since we were kitted out by KooGa. Recent efforts have been nothing but pathetic.

Just awful isn't it. There is a theory amongst our fans that RL clubs do it deliberately. Every club has an iconic shirt design that the fans cry out for, Saints have one, Wigan have one, Warrington as well. With Saints fans it's the St George look with the vee or the Meninga two-toned blue away kit for example. But the theory goes that the club won't let the manufacturers design those kits because they'd be too popular. Fans would buy that kit and wear that and not buy anything the club sold for the next ten years. But with semi-awful kits every year, people are more likely to buy.

What makes it worse is the Wigan fans were given several options to choose from, and nearly 50% of them chose this design

You're allowed to attend matches without trying to look like one of the players you know. Especially if you're an adult. You don't get refused entry at the turnstiles if you're not wearing one of these polyester monstrosities. Try not to let them upset you too much.

Yet they probably still picked the 'best' (I use that word loosely) option.
