Whatever makes the defeat easier to swallow. Obviously this thread and the other were created solely to soften the blow of losing a game you never contemplated losing. It must be because wigan cheated or the refs are corrupt.

| Quote Him="Him"It was only on the Super Zoom replays that it was clear it was a knock on. Initially Moon catches the ball and the ball is pushed against the Wigan player. That isn't a knock-on since Moon still has control of the ball. It's after that where the ball comes out of Moon's grasp and then hits the Wigan player (hits his hand IIRC) that it's a knock-on, the ball flies up into the air a little and then Moon catches it on his way down and grounds it.
A knock on, but certainly wasn't clear to start with. And I believe it's only recently that the VR has been able to use the Super Zoom capability, in previous years that would probably have been given even with the Video Ref reviewing it.'"
The correct call was made by the VR, end of story.
How ever dirty Wigan were and how ever much Leeds fans feel hard done by, it was a try.
Game over

I'm not sure I've seen or heard any Leeds fan complain about the no try. So close for us but the ball does hit Manfredi on the nose so correct call.

To be honest I very rarely get upset at losing these days, I've more things to worry about, especially when its a mid season game which will likely not effect who wins the title in any way shape or form.
I do enjoy discussing games and reading other people's take on what happened on the field. If you actually read what I have written I've said the best side won, I never said they cheated and I have never ever thought or written that i think anyone, including the refs, are corrupt, I'm not that childish.

Agreed, I've no issue whatsoever with that call, I have more issue with the ball not getting to BJB when he would have likely have scored rather than the ball getting passed to McGuire who sadly hasn't got his pace anymore.

| So as long as you've attained the status of 'pantomime villain' dirty play isn't dirty play? Just harmless slapstick?

Where did I say that, if Bailey does an act of 'thuggery' I will call it as such, and yes he has had his moments in his career, as for the game on Saturday the only thing of note he did was run into a scuffle and roll on the floor with Bateman for 30 seconds.
The two bits of play that I really don't think has a place in our game happened to come from Wigan, the dangerous throw and the cowardly hit in the back were IMO way over the line and I suspect at least one of them will see a ban for their actions. The Mcllorum incident was sheer stupidity on his part but not IMO thuggery, the yellow was the right call. Leeds having Bailey in the team does not negate foul play from the opposition.

Does McGuire's boot into George Williams have a place in the game then?
Listen to yourself, it's just biased whinging and drone. Moderators do him a favour and lock it.

| Having no axe to grind with either Wigan or Leeds I will say that apart from our win against FC this game was the best for me, I thought Wigan were brilliant in the way they came up with the plan to beat Leeds, they started off as the meant to go on, hard, Physical and in their faces. Plus for us old schoolers, there was a nice bit of mindless violence to keep the intensity up.
Great game, loved every second of it.

Stop trying to get threads locked when you don't agree with whats written, its embarrassing and childish.
I've posted my thoughts on the McGuire kicking out incident in a previous post, go back and read it if you like, and if you could point out where I have 'whinged' that would be nice.

| Rugby League would be pretty dull without 'pantomime villians', 'thugs' - call 'em what you will.
As much as opposition villians wind you up, a game consisting of only safe, cuddly, textbook tackling would be boring as hell. So while we'll all complain about niggle & cheap shots when our own team is on the end of them, I actually embrace them while they still exist.
Except Les Boyd. He was the exception.
