| Hawksbee and Jacobs are fans of the game I think. Often heard them talking about the game they've seen on Sky. Martin Kelner usually gives the game a plug when he's on their show as well.
Adrian Durham is an FC fan (from his Uni days I think) and is a fan of the game.
Vaughan is just an ex public schoolboy who's inching day by day towards local radio.

Vaughan is a middle class twit who puts on the tiresome geezer bit.
Doesn't get any T.V gigs anymore does he?

Agreed. Like him or hate him that's what he does take the mick he does it with every sport including his beloved football, we seem to be too over sensitive in RL. His producer is a Leeds fan which is where it stemmed from.

Yes Durham went to Hull Uni and started supporting Hull FC then. I'm sure I've heard before that his first real job in radio was doing the sports bulletins for Viking FM. He often gives Hull and the sport a mention.
Vaughan is a talentless, unfunny pr!ck. But people do need to stop being so precious. He takes the mickey out of lots of things.

| Quote: Gazwire "..is section on Johnny Vaughan's show basically taking the p out of rugby league with some muppet portraying a stereo typical rugby league fan in the most ridiculous way. I don't mind people tacking the micky if it wasn't the only RL output on Talksport bar 10 minutes on Sunday night late on in the 2 hour RU show. I unfortunately listened to it 2 weeks ago where Vaughan and his accompanying prick interviewed big Earl and treated him with total disrespect, laughing and chunnering through the interview and last week took the p out of Danny Brough's looks during a more cringeworthy interview. I'd love love to see Danny bump into Vaughan and put that weasel into place.'"
Do you really take life that seriously?

| It's a problem when people comment on something second hand without hearing it themselves or knowing the context.
If the purpose of the show is to take the mickey, then regardless of whether he is good or not, that is the point.

| brian moore is a fan of the game and is very knowledgeable, he could quite easily do his rugby show without mentioning league at all but always gets a guest on and covers the weeks events well

Does he do the same to RU ('good golly Samuel, that was a delightful try') or is it just open season on those simple old northerners like everywhere else in the media?

| Everyone takes the mick out of a Northern accent. It's not just in certain unsophisticated media tropes, but in everyday life when you encounter someone south of Crewe.
Even my house mate, from Peterborough has started to do the "eee, lad, by gum..." nonsense at me. I have no idea why this is, really. I really can't fathom the desire or motivation behind it. But hey, life is too short to get worked-up about it.

| I'm far more offended by the fact that the only regular RL feature is a small subsection in the middle of the weekly RU programme.
Brian Moore might think he's doing us a big favour, but I'd rather have nothing than be treated like a smaller, less important cousin of RU.
