Why don't we ask the Aussies to tour in 2014?

Game 1 vs France
Game 2 vs SL champions
Game 3 vs Lancashire
Game 4 vs Yorkshire
Game 5 vs Superleague select 17
Game 6 vs England

I do think we dont play the best enough. Its a push but could the ashes not be played mid season? The club game will have to just put up and shut up if we want this to succeed. Union do it no problems.

OM, i quite like that idea however i'd replace game 3,4 and 5 with Wales, the Challenge Cup winner and another game v England

Plenty of practice for the aussies there.
They will be battle hardened and even more difficult to overcome.

That is partly why I have also argued for the removal of Love and his cohorts and a change from the situation where the NRL/ARL takes off one cap and puts on the RLIF one, then rubber stamps the NRL/ARL decision.

Agree with you there; three NRL reps to the RFL's one on the RLIF Board does not smack of fairness.

I was agreeing that mid season summer windows would be best as opposed to what we have now where the 4N and WC in '13 is going to be played in miserable weather in November.. exciting...

Was the tri-nations (i.e. playing Aus and NZ twice in four pool games) actually a better development tool for England than the current four nations set-up? I agree with the concept of the latter but really enjoyed the double-dose of games with the big boys. It also allowed for tests in between - where the odd team out that weekend (e.g. Australia) would play Wales or France in a test.

The 4N is better for the development of RL but has diluted the quality. Tough dilemma.
