I didn't mean that he will be [sizethe[/size star of Super League, but rather [sizea[/size star. In fact that was exactly what the post headline said. I want to make that clear. I feel that he will be one of the top three full backs, as I did say in my original post.
As for him being better than the national leagues, you must remember that many people look down on the national leagues. Yet there is a bit of unrecognized talent lurking down there --especially at places like Widnes, Halifax, Whitehaven, Leigh, Sheffield, Gateshead and Toulouse.

It was a nervy pass at a time when the game was in danger of running away from us.
Up until then and in the second half I don't think he put a foot wrong otherwise and looked dangerous on more than one occasion.

Don't get me wrong I felt sorry for him because I think he is a cracking player and I hope he does prove himself, that post just got to me.

I know what you mean, I would have found it funny if another teams player had thrown a pass like that.
No more of it Tony.

Celtic Crusaders do not have a very strong team this year. But they do have a good front row, a very talented scrum half, and a superb full back named Tony Duggan.
Those who have had the pleasure of watching Duggan in the National Leagues last year will remember some sensational attacking runs. The man has a tremendous side step, a good swerve, and great pace.
When one thinks about it, there were only two exciting full backs in Super League last yearIt is early days yet. But I think that we will all be talking about Tony Duggan's brilliant attacking performances throughout the season'" .
Er no, because he is behind Brett Hodgson as well

Hodgson does not have the array of attacking skills that Tony Duggan has.

There were whispers a few years ago that Wigan wanted him when they had their little "Full Back Crisis" but he turned them down, Apparently they couldn't offer him the same money as he was on in South Wales...

I cant remember, It was a few years ago. Though I think it was an Ex Oldham Player and Assistant Coach who still had a lot of connections in the game who told me. but can't be 100%
He'd have no reason to lie, and most of what he said (upcoming transfers and the like) usually turned out to be so.

I think it a little early yet to make statements like that. I mean his last 3 seasons have been 2 years in NL2 and 1 year in NL1 followed by 1 SL game. I think he looks a very good player, but then again Wellens looks class a lot of the time when he's in a winning team. Over the past 2 years Celtic have probably won 80% of their games. 1st game in the big time and he makes a serious blunder. There's no doubt he can run and comes into the attack very well, but if after 10 games he's made 10 blunders, people might start to say he's a luxury player a la Kevin Penny.
From what I've seen he probably will go very well, but as I said its far too early to tell. The moves that people have been talking about that didn't work against Leeds were working in NL and the amount of times Widnes were cut to shreads by Van Dijks inside balls was ridiculous. Very much wait and see IMO.

| Tony Duggan's brilliance ---two tries in three minutes against Salford --- shows that he is every bit the great player that I have been saying.
