I hear Widdop is flying to the rescue tomorrow.
One year deal at Cas followed by a two year deal with Warrington (who can’t fit him under the cap in 2019, even as a marquee player).
Cas have also been given dispensation from the non-fed player quota for Widdop, who is non-fed trained despite being English. The RFL are also paying part of his salary.

You are perpetuating this myth that Cas have been given Gale’s whole salary and or accusing the club of bad salary cap management. You don’t know if they have or haven’t left space, and you don’t know the amount of dispensation they have asked for. Without any evidence it is guesswork and I was challenging YOUR views. I didn’t present anything I said as fact, more that you can’t comment or criticise Cas until you know the exact situation. Even then other clubs have used it before, others will use it after. It’s in the rules, everyone can do it, and we aren’t gaining any benefit from doing it.

Fair enough.
By not having it you’re penalising clubs in a sport where injuries can occur at any point through any fault of their own. It’s an immensely physical sport and I think we need a degree of flexibility. If you lost 4 players for the season in pre-season, a club could be down £400k on their cap space versus others and only be spending £1.6m on players who can actually contribute versus a club like Warrington spending £2.5m. It’s an uneven playing field and as someone else pointed that already exists with marquee salaries.
As mentioned Gale is nothing more than an off-field employee. We can’t spend more than the basic cap on players who can play this year and we are getting no benefit as Gale can’t play in 2019. We still can only spend the same amount as everyone else. If he does return we have to clear the appropriate space on our cap to be able to fit him back in and under the cap.

I haven't read all your posts but everyone that I have read is full of misleading statements and untruths as you attempt to sway public opinion that Castleford are cheating and being allowed to break the cap which is not the truth.

It’s meant to be.
I thought it sounded a bit realistic, so I stuck the bit about the RFL paying part of his wage on the end so it couldn’t possibly be true.
The RFL would never contribute to the wages of players at some clubs but not at others...........

What untruths have I told? And I’ve constantly said they aren’t cheating as the rule does exist, just said it’s a poor rule. Another one that might want to learn to read what is written rather than what they want to see.

| No issue here for me, its not something that has just been plucked out of thin air this happens quite a lot, its only because Well mentioned it in the media that is is even a discussion point on here. IMO Cas would have been quite silly not to ask for salary cap relief.

| So Cas have just de-registered Gale? I always assumed fed-trained players were being carouselled routinely and within the rules, tbh. At the wealthier clubs at least.

S'what happens when your superstar team is garbage for a season
Instead of improving the team, just weaken the opposition instead, any myopic way you can.
Failing that, whilst you're banned from your own club forum, just troll the 5h1t out of everyone else.

How would you know? You’re a Wakefield fan......now that’s actual trolling.
Me having a different opinion on an issue (in this case the cap relief rule) isn’t trolling, it’s just the point of a message board with debate. Too many on here think anytime someone has a difference of opinion to them it’s trolling.

I am a case in point. People always assume that I am trolling because I take a different point of view, like most French people.

On the face of it I think that if a player is injured pre season and stays off the playing roster then the club should be able to juggle the cap particularly if it is a route open to all clubs.
However, I must pull you up on your uneven playing field comment as the rules that Warrington operate their cap and roster are open to all clubs?
