I think it must be both curtainsiders and rigids because I've seen three Stobart curtainsiders tri-axle trailers with the advertising on.

RFL discovered to be talking bollox rlHERErl about the record breaking, smashing all box office records figure of 353,000 viewers tuning into the Wigan V Huddersfield opening SL fixture on Sky Sports 1 on Friday 7th Feb.

They also told porkies about the viewing figures for the Aviva Premiership game on BT Sport 1 which registered 75,000 viewers according to BARB as opposed to the 65,200 claimed by the RFL.

To summarise the RFL horse earlier this week.....
1. The 353,000 was actually 243,000 which was less than the 251,000 viewers who tuned into the Widnes V Wakey SL opener in 2012.
2. The alleged 38% increase in viewing figures on last season's SL opener was actually 29% (243K v 188K).
3. The alleged extra 288,000 viewers tuning into Super League on 7th Feb which was alleged to be 543% higher than the alleged viewers for the Union game on the much smaller BT Sport subscription base was actually an extra 168,000 which is 324% higher (243K v 75K).
4. I expect the RFL viewing comparison to BDO Darts on Eurosport (A desperate RFL or what? Well, they are hardly going to compare the figures with Premier League Darts for obvious reasons
Could you point me to the data?
Your link was just to the BARB website and I couldn't find any way to dig down to each broadcast and/or your league table of viewers. All I found were individual channel average weekly viewers?
Also I wasn't aware that attendance figures are banned on here?

scroll over the on the viewing data tab, click on top 10's.
Then scroll along the channels, select Sky Sports 1 (you can hold Ctrl and select multiples if you want) and then select the date you require....Feb 03-09.....hit VIEW DATA and low and behold, there's SL on 243k below darts but above Spanish soccer.
Got to love those of a more "insecure" nature questioning the industry accepted standard for collection and reporting of viewing data.

Why would Sky rely on far more inaccurate and far less complete data than they already have access to? 86% of their boxes are connected to the internet and providing instant data about viewing. They have two seperate companies which sort through this data, profile it and also sell some of this data on.
They are able to provide specific advertising access to specific areas of the country and specific demographics and specific households.
They do of course ignore the data that they have, that they profile, that they sell, that they gathered from about 11m people in favour of the 5100 households that provide the BARB figures, because as any statistician knows, the smaller the data set, the better the results.

| Could all Moonies please take note of the following guidelines...
1. Do not take any notice of any official viewing figures presented by BARB. Their figures are fudged, agenda-driven, incomplete and based on an extremely small and biased sample set. Their viewing figures intentionally portray rugby league in the most negative light possible whilst artificially boosting rugby union viewing figures on BT Sport. In conclusion, BARB are not to be trusted as an organisation because they must really hate rugby league.
2. Viewing figures issued by the RFL (via their partners at Sky) are the only viewing figures to display incredible accuracy and potency. They shall always guide you towards the real truth. They also prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that Super League is far more popular than **darts. As for rugby union viewing figures on BT Sport? Hahahahahaha - according to Sky's incredibly accurate findings on their hugely more popular TV platform.
3. The highest ever, record breaking, box office smashing viewing figures for the opening game of Super League as announced by the RFL (via their Sky partners) were in 2012 (Widnes V Wakefield) and 2014 (Wigan V Hudds) and these are incontrovertible facts! It is mere coincidence that both those opening games produced astronomical Sky viewing figures which just happened to coincide with recent fanfare announcements of fantastically brand new Sky deals to televise the game from 2012-2016 and then extend it from 2017-2021 respectively.
** That'll be more popular than BDO darts on Eurosport as opposed to PDC Premier League darts on erm... oh, that's right... Sky.

Who knows. What is clear is that he's a boring p r I c k, and that he's never once demonstrated any understanding of the intricacies of the game thats played on the field. No, instead his prowess lies in winding up a bunch of strangers on a message board, we can only dream of being such an inspirational figure.

Why would they need to lie (which is what you're saying) and make figures up *AFTER* a deal's been signed & announced?
Have some straws to grasp..

To be fair to young bill, this thread was designed to wind him up, yet has backfired spectacularly with the publication of the industry standard figures showing up the RFL's overuse of knock down Nigel's bumper book of spin!

You can keep repeating that BARB are the industry standard, ill keep telling you that Sky have their own far more accurate figures from about 86% of boxes rather than about 30;000 BARB recorders, and a panel of 500'000 interview panel rather than 5100 for BARB.

Is it 86% or about 86%?
Sky may well have a high percentage of their viewing figures down pat, but it doesn't make the barb website obsolete or their figures any less relevant....the RFL quoted other stations figures in their releases.....where did they take those figures from?

It does. There is a reason why Sky set up a business to what BARB does. Because they can do it much better.
