Missed a few games due to injury but Greg Eastwood gives good value as one of the best imports.

I've been very impressed in the games I've seen of him. Doesn't seem to do many minutes though.

Top 3 for me but haven't seen enough games to back it up and will have forgot loads -

Cunningham, Morley, J Tomkins

Contenders -

Brown, Mason, O'Loughlin, Scrutton, Peacock, Graham, Roby

Players playing well also-

Amos, Eastmond, Monaghan, Pryce (shaping up again), S Tomkins, Witt,

Players i'd like at Wakefield - All of the above...

Quote: Gotcha "When has points scoring ever come into a MOS vote?

True. But I don't think there are that many contenders and in terms of consistency since Day 1 of the season Pat has been right up there. We shall see but personally I don't think the award will go to any forward this year. If Cunningham wins it it'll be a token gesture award just like when Ryan Giggs won the football effort. He has been an awesome player for Saints but not enough this season to be man of steel.

Pat's not just a points machine though. He's also Wigan's top meter maker, second only to James Graham in the rest of super league. Not bad going for a winger/fullback

He'll be a top contender for man of lard, with Solomona and Feka fighting with him for it.

Don't be daft, Eastwood would win this contest easily, especially now Feka has lost too much weight to be considered.

Having proven he's better than Westwood and Paul Wood last week, I think we can safely say he wins the award for best wood in SL as well.

Holdsworth is having a tremendous season.

But it's still Leon Pryce. Best in SL by a distance as wide as the English channel.

Exactly my point. Makes a farce of the whole thing. It's ridiculous, it's now the 'SL popularity contest'.

James Roby was the last true Man of Steel, the award given to the player who has impacted most on the season.

It's been devalued immensly now.

The award was changed exactly for that reason. All the players have said that the award that means most is the Player's Player award. Roby only won it that year because the Journos didn't want to award to an Aussie who'd come over for his first year and torn SL apart. There's nobody on here with a sensible head who can say Roby was a better player that Barrett that year. It's not a popularity contest it's recognition from your peers that you have been the best player of any given season.
