If he was still great, he wouldn't be in SL, he'd be plying his trade in the NRL. Can still be good on his day, but his day has long since passed.'"
He was offered a new deal by SGI but wanted to come home for family reasons.
I'd be interested to know your thoughts on Jackson Hastings if that's how you judge a player.

Apples and oranges, mate.
Hastings was a young, talented, hungry halfback who messed-up off the field and needed to get his life sorted let alone his RL career. Salford offered an olive branch, he took it and set about turning his life around. Didn't do a bad job eh?
Widdop has been a talented HB for many years, is approaching the end of his career, and suffers with injury more regularly now than before. A severely reduced contract offered by SGI should show you that he is a big risk in a key position. Their offer reflected that. He may do okay in SL, but that doesn't mean what I say isn't true now does it?

| Widdop is still a class operator.
I'd have took him at Hull in a breath.

Like I said, I think he's been a great player and will probably do okay over here if he stays injury free. He's still a gamble, and an expensive one at that.

| Widdop has obviously been a quality performer down the years but his best days are just behind him. I think the fact none of the so-called 'big three' clubs in this country were in for him speaks volumes.

He plays for Warrington, who are to anyone with a RL brain are part of the big four and are currently well above its lowest member Leeds, which makes them part of your imaginary big 3
How unlike Widnes they are.

Wigan, St Helens and Leeds are all far bigger clubs than Warrington. At least Leeds, as average as their current side is, don't have to look back to 1955 for the last time they were Champions.
It could certainly be argued too that Hull FC are a bigger club than Wire.
As for your own joke club, the one that had fans on here claiming were an 'established top 5 SL club' after a couple of 5th placed finishes but pathetically ended up having fans on the pitch and celebratory music over the tannoy after a last day win over the mighty London. Such a smalltime nothing club.

You're not seriously trying to say Wire have displaced Leeds as a bigger club are you? Leeds have won the Super League 8 times to Warrington's 0, won the World Club Challenge 3 times to Warrington's 0, and they consistently attract larger crowds. The big three remain Leeds, Saints and Wigan. There is no 'big four' because there isn't another British club at that level since Bradford's demise.

Can’t argue with that. Need to win one to be included in the group.

What utter rubbish, the big three or big four are based on current standings not historical. Hunslet can claim to be in the big four by your logic. Hence at the moment, Warrington are higher up the pecking order than Leeds, live with it. That may change but for now, Warrington hold one out of the two trophies available, what have Leeds got?

With the injury tally last season, Trinity were never likely to hit 5th.
I just had another look at the table to see where Trinity finished in relation to your club but, I couldn't see them.
How was your season
At least you finished above Dewsbury
